Why have Indigo Plateau as the capital city and not Saffron, which is smack-dab in the middle of the region?

Pokemon RPG-Like Idea (some preliminary ideas)

In the fantastic Pokemon world of Esperia, hundreds of pearls lie scattered across the land, waiting for a fortunate adventurer to find them. Many believe they are gifts from Arceus and the Legendaries, but no one knows for sure where they came from. If they were gifts from heaven, what were they for?

So one swordmage named Ash decided to find out the truth.

After rallying three of his companions--the valkyrie Misty, the minstrel Brock, and the runeblade Serena--Ash embarked on a long journey across Esperia for answers. But what started as curiosity soon turned into a journey to save the world. It was discovered that Ash and his companions were not the only ones seeking the pearls--some were seeking them to revive four fallen god-Pokemon, and devastate the world. But if enough of them could be gathered by warriors with good and pure hearts, the fallen god-Pokemon would be banished forever, and evil destroyed once and for all.

What adventures await the swordmage, the valkyrie, the minstrel, and the runeblade on their travels? Can they harness the power of the pearls to save their world?

The Group and their Trad Galarian Music (some worldbuilding for the Elite Eight in the remixed animeverse)

The traditional music of Galar is an international success story, and one of the best loved genres of traditional music in the Pokeworld. In addition to new bands starting in Galar every day, there are renowned trad Galarian (as the genre is affectionately nicknamed) bands in Unova, all across Europa, and even in Waku.

The group are one of many Wakunese that enjoy playing this style of music, and frequently mix Unovan mountain music, Kalosian gypsy jazz, Kalosian and Paldean Celtic tunes, and even trad Galarian twists on classical themes and rock songs.

The group's typical trad Galarian and storytelling setup (known under various names and lineups through the years, but currently named Elementalis) typically looks like this:

Ash--flutes, whistles, harmonica, fiddle (rarely), backup vocals
Misty--fiddle, backup vocals, keyboards (rarely)
Brock--guitar, harps (both a large Galarian harp and a smaller wire strung minstrel's harp), lead vocals
Serena--fiddle, mandolin, accordion, backup vocals
May--vocals, guitar (if Brock is busy with one of the harps), mandolin (if Serena is busy playing fiddle or accordion), percussion, dancing
Dawn--fiddle, tin whistle (if Ash is busy with one of his flutes or the harmonica), backup vocals, dancing
Liko--acoustic guitar (rarely), harps (Galarian harp and Paldean harp), tin whistle, ocarina, percussion, vocals, dancing
Roy--percussion, classical guitar, backup vocals

When the group is performing a show as Elementalis, they wear colorful minstrel costumes. Brock's costume, a majestic purple, red, and gold outfit, signals he is the leader of the group, and often serves as the master of ceremonies during shows. The group has won many prizes and awards for their lively and dramatic storytelling that almost borderlines on a theatrical production--many rave that their performances as Elementalis are not to be missed.

What a Pokemon: Hundred Heroes Might Look Like (exploring what something like Suikoden or Eiyuden Chronicle might look like in Ancient Waku)

What is staying from the inspiration:

--100+ heroes--the Elite Eight+characters from Gen 1-9 (and some of the spinoffs) A story version would just focus on the Elite Eight)
--Magic is acquired via valuable items (pearls, in this case)
--There are plenty of things do outside of the main adventure
--You can catch and care for Pokemon (what you have to beat are your typical RPG monsters--to catch a Pokemon, all Ruby Phoenix (nee Ash) has to do is play his mystical flute)

What is different from the inspiration:

--Rather than a pseudo-European-like land, this grand adventure is set in Ancient Waku (Poke-Japan)-martial arts, yokai, over the top theater and all.
--The theater scripts (which you find out in the wild) reflect mostly Asian stories, not European ones
--Some of the mini games are different

A Gen 10 What If--Pokemon Earth and Pokemon Sky (a thought experiment/possible story idea of what Gen 10 could look like)

--Pokemon Earth's mascot would be a red serpentine dragon thing--distinct from Gyarados, and at least part Ground type. Pokemon Sky's mascot would be a shiny pegasus thing named Brilavalo (brilliant+cavallo--Italian for "horse) that is Fairy/Flying
--The region would be inspired by Italy--possible names would be Arcoba (from arcobaleno, rainbow); Talie (a stylized spelling of Italy) or Amizia (based on the Italian word for friendship--since the imagined games' themes are friendship and unity.
--Fedeleo Town Is often the first place visitors to the region arrive. The resident professor, Prof. Laurel, has her lab here. If a trainer is interested in taking the Gym challenge, they can choose between the deer-like Petavo (petal+cervo; Italian for 'deer'), the fire chick Pollucia (pollastra, an Italian word for 'chick'+St. Lucia, a saint associated with light. Unlike Torchic, Pollucia actually has wings, and a flowing tail--a hint of its phoenix like final form), or the water dog Rugicane (rugiada, Italian for 'dew'+cane, Italian for dog. Unlike Growlithe, Rugicane looks a little more like a wolf pup--a hint to its final dual Water/Ice wolf form

The Group's Streaming Traditions (some worldbuilding for the group in the remixed animeverse)

When the group is streaming on Eight Spirits TV (their joint gaming channel), there's always a few traditions the group follows:

--The stream music while viewers are settling in is appropriate to what it is the group is doing that particular stream. If they are not playing any game in particular, or multiple games in the same stream, the default music is a version of Mario Paint's Creative Exercise. The Creative Exercise is also played while games (and sometimes consoles) are being changed out, and if technical difficulties have occurred.

--The stream begins with one of the group saying "Hi, this is (Spirit name here), for Eight Spirits TV."

--Depending on what is being streamed, the group may also dress up in costume (either their Eight Spirits costumes or a costume appropriate for the game being played) They will always dress up in costume for streams on or around Halloween. Fans will often get to vote on the costume theme for Halloween streams.

--Sometimes, they will let users play games with them, or spectate in an audience--Brock will let users know of this as users arrive.

--While the group mainly streams RPGs, Mario, Zelda, Trainer's Quest (the Pokemon games we know and love), and party games are not unheard of. (Mario Party, in all its incarnations, is a fan favorite.)

--The group's schedule is planned out in advance, but fans can suggest games for the group to play--fans can and do donate games to the group.

--If an RPG has a cooking mechanic, Brock will often attempt to recreate at least one of the in game dishes with real ingredients--these cooking interludes are fan favorites.

--The group is not opposed to playing their own music or doing their takes on character voices--usually if the in game music is annoying or the in game voices are bad.

Traveling Through An Ancient World (revising an Eight Spirits idea--inspired by Legends: Arceus and InuYasha)

What is staying from the inspiration:

--Ancient forms of the classic Trio (as Noble Spirits)
--rogue/yokai/warlord of the day/week/whenever
--The three spirits are looking for pearls

What is different:

--No one from the modern Pokeworld is coming to Ancient Waku--Ruby Phoenix (Ash/Satoshi). Sapphire Dragon (Misty/Kasumi) and Emerald Raikou (Brock/Takeshi) are meant to be in the ancient world all along.
--Rather than shards of one pearl, our heroes are looking for many pearls
--The Trio is not just fighting yokai--there are also rogue martial artists, general rogues and warlords involved

The other five Noble Spirits do appear to help the main Trio out--Golden Delphox's running gag is soap (as many Wakunese in this time value Kalosian soap as more than gold--so she has adapted the Kalosian recipe to fit Wakunese ingredients.)

How to Implement Midori Into Lightning Yellow (some ideas to unstick writers' block)

Basically, Midori (FR/LG girl) would be a friendly rival to Ash, to serve as a contrast to Gary. She is in the stateroom next to the Trio on the ill fated SS Anne cruise, and so would serve as a bit of a tour guide for the ship. She does wash up on the Island of the Giant Pokemon with the Trio.

She has three Pokemon with her, borrowed from her counterpart in Let's Go:

--Kari the Clefairy
--Rei the Vulpix
--Sprinkle the Squirtle (a reference to my very first Pokemon in Blue)

Should she catch more Pokemon, she would eventually catch an Eevee (not sure what she would evolve to) and a Bulbasaur.

My questions for now:

--Would Ash know Midori at all, seeing as she too is from Pallet?
--Would Misty or Brock know Midori? If Brock knows Midori, he helped her catch Kari. If Misty knows Midori, she helped her train Sprinkle

If she lived in Pallet Town, then her knowing Ash I think makes sense depending on where she lived as well as how old she is compared to Ash.

Traveling Martial Arts Adventure Ideas (a thought experiment)

"I wanna be, the very best, like no one ever was" has been the heartbeat of Pokemon since Day 1. In modern times, this usually means a trainer off to prove themselves worthy of Pokemon League Champion. But what does that look like in a time when people were still leery of what Pokemon were able to do? (since it is implied by Legends: Arceus that Pokemon battles are a relatively new innovation)

My answer to this is in ancient times, it was the humans themselves that battled, via martial arts, many of which were informed by Pokemon.

So what would be the journey to the League today, would be a long journey to the Indigo City (modern day Indigo Plateau) and battling in the grand tournament there, with hundreds of schools and sects gathering from across Waku to prove themselves before Emperor Divine Dragon--Lance's ancestor.

There would still be Pokemon to be had on such an adventure--but mainly as companions, or as protection.

Since there was no centralized League just yet, and no set number of badges, it was not unheard of for these martial artists to have hundreds, if not thousands of emblems earned from any and every noble dojo master they could find. The only rule that was in place is that the duel was non lethal--killing or gravely wounding an opponent meant dungeon time, at best.
