Sorry to see how poorly the maxie fight went. Massacres like that are really painful; i know what it feels like to have to rebuild your whole team. If you're looking for an electric type to replace Minun though, you can get the cosplay Pikachu by participating in a contest. This pikachu can't evolve into Raichu though, so if you want to use that you'll have to get a pikachu in the safari zone.

Yeah....For those who didn't see, we lost three Pokemon to Maxie and one to Tabitha before him; including our starter, Marshtomp. I'll provide a stricter update after the next stream since we'll be halfway through the game.

Minun was only an Electrike replacement since I didn't get that encounter on Route 110 - I've got one more chance to get it on Route 118, and can all but guarantee it if I catch a Wingull prior (40% encounter rate, 5% kecleon worst case). So I'm not desperate for Pikachu yet. But thanks for the advice on the contest Pikachu, we'll do that if worst comes to worse.
