In fairness Zygarde doesn't have that many additional forms. The cores don't seem usable in battle, they haven't been giving types or weights according to the official site. I see them being treated similar to eggs, in your party but not usable in battle. Meaning there is only really 2 extra Zygarde forms (10% and Complete)

I didn't actually say Team Flare, I said Lysandre's ancestor the younger brother of AZ, or even AZ himself. But, we don't actually know how old Team Flare is, nothing says Lysandre started it. It could have been inherited. This could explain the fire motif but lack of actual fire users. Historically it was a fire team, but over the years has diversified.

Yes but what news in particular, usually they seize on a tiny detail and spin it/misinterpret it but I can't even see what they are saying this time. Like what in the news we got are they saying suggests Gen 7?

I agree, if they wanted to rush out Gen 7 for some random reason, they could have just thrown out Z last year. Z would be a guaranteed profit and after spending so much on investing and designing Kalos to not get a full return, to actually throw away money would be bonkers.

Can you imagine how incomplete Gen 6 would be if it just stays like it is, so much unanswered in XY. It would easily Top Gen 3 and Gen 5 amongst the hate it receives.
Gen III and V recieve hate for the most moronic and stupid reasons most of the time, I think it's a stupid trendy trend instead of serious diss tbh.

But I agree and I hope gen VI does recieve more respect from fans. And an other Gen VI game would definitely make it even better than it is.

But I think it is one of the best already.

The news next month is unlikely Z due to the fact that no pokemon game has been announced by corocoro since Platinum. I think this so called "announcement that will affect the entire world" news is being overhyped like in December which turned out to be Volcanion. I'm not buying this news not one bit until I see it for myself.

I feel like because we still only know so little about Go, that I'm more excited about that 'Pokémon Photo Booth' app lol. Nothing can go wrong with taking pictures, unless you're not photogenic lol, plenty can go wrong in augmented reality. Whose excited to take some awesome 20th Anniv snaps!? I hope there's lots of cool and different borders/Pokémon emojis and things like that. Instagram is about to get unbelievably fun.

Technically Volcanion was a major announcement because technically we weren't supposed to know about it yet.

If you can't see their comments, it's not my place to act as a third party. Go & see for yourself, and ask them for their own interpretations.

Personally? It's the comment about "news that will shake the world". CoroCoro hype up a lot of announcements, but this seems somewhat...huge. Larger than Eternal Floette, or Zygarde's form which we knew about months ago. While I agree that there's a good chance this may be a Volcanion form change, I'm not ruling out the possibility of a new Pokemon debuting in this film.

Game development is a lot more complicated than just "throwing things out". Do I even need to quote Miyamoto here?

Considering Game Freak released Gen VI at all, I think it's safe to say that they view the games as complete. Especially considering how they didn't patch X/Y for OR/AS compatability. If Game Freak honestly viewed them as incomplete, DLC (and making the games DLC compatible at all) would have been the way to go from the very beginning, not a re-release with an altered story and new legendary to focus on.

Well I believe that it was big news but that is my opinion. At least we got it officially announced and out of the way until it's new form/mega is revealed.

Quite right, I agree with you, it's not your place. But it was you that replied to my comment first. I wasn't asking you. Why get involved and then tell me it's nothing to do with you???

You can argue that the games themselves feel complete, personally I disagree with you especially on XY . But I don't see the point you are making about DLC, if the story of a generation was meant to be told in 3 parts, the fact parts 1 and 2 were released doesn't rule out the need for part 3.

First off, its been confirmed many times Gen 6 games can't do DLC. ANd besides there is still so much unanswered itd be impossible to fit all in one DLC

I never said that. I said that their posts were nothing to do with me and offered my own thoughts on the news.

It's not about what I feel. My point was about the developer's view of the game.

If they didn't feel the game was complete, they wouldn't have released it when they did. That, or they would have been designed to be DLC compatible so they could add to it and make it complete. The 3DS is DLC compatible, just look at Smash & Fire Emblem. It's just a case that Game Freak didn't feel that the current generation of games need DLC, which ties in with the fact that they dislike the idea of players having to pay for singular Pokemon.

As for unanswered questions, they don't have to be limited to a single DLC pack. There could be several, especially if some were free.

I'm certain that the next game at least won't be some dumb third version. If Gane Freak were doing that, they would have already put it out

Or just wait for the 20th anniversaty for the game release? A 2015 release would be too much, since we got 3 years straight pokemon games. Break is needed for the development. Most generation run 4 years, so they have time.

I'd say that it wouldn't be logical to release a Zygarde game a year or longer after they revealed the Zygarde Formes. The Zygarde hype will have definitely winded down by then.

No, not at all. Even if 2 years are passed without any announcement, if there are no information about the formes in form of a story and ingame meaning, then there's stuff to speculate and the excitement still hold on.

But I agree and I hope gen VI does recieve more respect from fans. And an other Gen VI game would definitely make it even better than it is.

This is typical "New gen hate" from the fanboys of older gens. They leave and the fanbase of the new gen growse. Same since the beginning.

Black/White Kyurem was also considered "huge announcement" for the movie. The thing is, that CoroCoro only cover the japanese audience. And since Gen 5, they brought the hype to the west. The western audience doesn't know about that "huge announcement" if there was no internet. They need to start building up the hype for the western audience like they did with X&Y mutliple weaks before the announcement.

If Game Freak honestly viewed them as incomplete, DLC (and making the games DLC compatible at all) would have been the way to go from the very beginning, not a re-release with an altered story and new legendary to focus on.

And why doing DLC's, if they just could do a typical third version like they did since ever. That would generate more money than a simple DLC. They haven't updatet X&Y with DLC's or free content, but a X/Y DLC with OR/AS mega stones was possible.

You made out that I was asking you to answer on someone elses behalf but I wasn't. I asked a question openly, not directed at you, but you replied, and then when I followed up you said it wasn't your job to act as a third party. I don't mind you replying to my posts this is a forum and discussion makes it interesting, but please don't join the discussion then pretend I am somehow forcing you to contribute or write a response.

You've missed the point entirely. There is a difference between individual games being complete and the generation itself being complete. Personally, I don't feel XY were complete, you say they were and like you said obviously Game Freak thought they were too, fair enough. But there is still a lot unanswered and we know the games aren't DLC compatible, so for them to just leave the whole thing unanswered rather than resolving them in a 3rd instalment like they have done since Crystal, would make the generation as a whole feel incomplete, not the individual games.

DLC is a terrible idea. I don't want main series games to have parts that are only unlocked by DLC. It would be a bad move in my opinion. Main series games should be released as complete games.

So, would Gen VI be the first generation to have all of its legendaries have at least 2 forms?
Xerneas has its tree
Yveltal has its cocoon
Zygarde has its % forms
Diancie has its mega
Hoopa has its unbound
Volcanion might have something...

Trendsetter Gen VI :D

While the tree and cocoon do count as forms, they're not registered as that in the Pokédex. Going by the Pokédex, only Xerneas has one.

I think there is no reason to expect a new Pokemon over a new Mega.

The latter makes more sense and is more reasonable during gen VI.

Unless Gen VII is beginning. But I doubt it.

I guess on that technicality it wouldn't but on a general level it would. Why does Xerneas have that weird light blue form? Why wouldn't Yveltal get something similar? I played Y not X...

What Mega then? What legendary Pokemon would you tie to Volcanion?
Why does it have to be a legendary or tied to a legendary though...

I think a Mega is big news by itself. The movie could just feature a new Mega. Or a new variety of Ash Greninja. Maybe with Chestnaught?

Well because it's in relation to the movie, the announcement, I mean.

I rather see Zygarde in the movie over a mega. Zygarde should be in a movie just like Rayquaza, Giratina and Kyurem did. A mega for Volcanion might happen though.

I don't understand why the people who think Gen VII would come next are using the Mythical Pokémon distribution as a "sign" that their ending 6th gen here. Meloetta (the last to be given out) isn't being distributed until December, whatever game comes next, event distribution times mean absolutely nothing now, especially after Hoopa imo.

It doesn't have to be in the movie at all, I mean, it's getting an entire anime arc to itself. It might be in the movie, considering that one poster, but I wouldn't really expect a huge role tbh. It doesn't have to follow a pattern. :/

I think it could go either way tbh. I mean, I can see a Generation 6 game this year, but this also feels like a Generation wrap-up, especially with the whole "major announcement that will affect the world".

Though, if they do move onto Generation 7, they could have South Kalos be the new region and we go to North Kalos for the post-game? Zygarde, Northern Kalos starters, Xerneas, Yveltal, Eternal Flower Floette, and all the Generation 6 Pokemon would still be relevant along with Southern Kalos starters and new Pokemon.

Think of it something like... North Korea/South Korea, West Virginia/East Virginia, and North Dakota/South Dakota. Everyone would be happy tbh, no one in Generation 6 would get ignored.
