Generation VII confirmed!

Outside of Mega Rayquaza, this is likely not going to be the case. Z-Crystals are required to be held by the respective Pokemon and set into the Z-Ring at the same time, and a move of the same type must be known by the Pokemon to use it - suggesting, at the very least, that Z-Crystals will be held items much like Mega Stones. Thus, you have to choose between one or the other in most cases.

...which I guess is a good idea since you can't survive competitively now without a Mega and this will open up a rather small window of opportunity to defeat the opponent. I mean it still will be incredibly tricky to use them because of type immunities. For instance if I want to use the dragon-type z-power then I run the risk of my opponent predicting it and switching in a fairy, wasting my only opportunity to use it, and thus lose the battle. Same goes for any other type immunity. Depending on how strong these moves are (and if they are given priority, like what if someone uses ice shard on my dragon and thus I am not able to use it?).

We need more info to determine their usefulness. *sigh*

What if the type of move the Pokemon uses for the Z-Move determines if the Z-Move is physical or special? Say Lapras uses Waterfall for the Water-type Z-Move, now it's physical due to Waterfall.

yeah or will be even affected by stat modifiers at all, since the power isn't coming from the pokemon, but a stone?

I was just thinking, as of the latest update we now have 35 Pokemon revealed to us before release.

How many reveals did we get before the release of X & Y? It was somewhere around 45 wasn't it? In that case we're only about 10 off now.

I'm confused as I thought this CoroCoro was going to reveal information on the southern part of the Alola region, but it was like less than six new pokemon, two Alolan forms, and two members of Team Skull. That isn't anything near information pertaining to the region.

In Japan, when the term "Southern Islands" is used, it usually means the islands are tropical, not the location.

But there was no information about any part of Alola revealed. Really hope next month isn't "you wanted rockruff's evolution? Well here is three new pokemon, a Alolan form, and a new character." Idk they just never follow through.

yes, but I think with megas trashed, we will receive more pokes.

Now that we have a sandcastle Pokemon, I'm really hoping for that snowman Pokemon from the Chinese leaks.

Well, it is stuff on the islands. They even gave us the villainous team, so it's not just new Pokemon. CoroCoro wouldn't promise revealing Rockruff's evolution next month and then lie about it like you're suggesting.

Mega Evolutions aren't gone. They're well-received. Besides, if they were removed, then what's the whole point of making Generation 6's story about Mega Evolution? It'll just be a filler generation and we all know that no generation is a filler generation.

The worst that can happen with the Mega Evolutions right now is that they're limited to post-game with no new ones.

Oh I'm not saying they purposely lie to their consumer, more likely that the marketing changed prior to publication.

So much for info on Alola islands. But info on new pokemon and Alola forms is good. That fish pokemon that changes into a bigger one seems interesting. Kind of foreseen Marowak since the Fire trial captain had one. Nice Alola Meowth. I assume that Persian would be Dark too?

I get the reasoning. It's just annoying after XY which was practically "We love Gen 1 and we're going to do everything we can do to show you that" the game.
The majority of the Kalos dex is Gen 1.
The first wild encounter in the game is scripted to always be Pidgey.
The Santalune Forest is a copy of the Viridian Forest, along with all the Pokémon from the Viridian Forest being available in it.
You get the Kanto Starters.
The Kanto Starters were the first set to get Megas.
Both Charizard and Mewtwo were given 2 Megas.
You are given a Lapras.
All the Gen 1 Legendaries are in the game.
EDIT: Snorlax Roadblock
Pokéflute
Unknown Dungeon
It's so tiring.
The only logical conclusion is that gamefreak are genwunners and they only continue to make the games for money

Here is an Intervirw where masuda states he never should have made any new Pokemon and wishes he just kept it all in kanto

It's to soon to jump the gun we've only seen 7 of them

We knew right off the bat that Mega Evolution wasn't exclusive to Gen 1. However Alolan Forms, which are pretty similar to ME, have just been Gen 1 so far. I'm pretty confident that I'm not jumping the gun. But hey, I want to be proven wrong. I just really don't think that I will.

Besides, it's jumping the gun to say that it's not exclusive to Gen 1.

you seem to set the bar really um.....low. you also seem to conflate a fairly reasonable need to address Gen I mons' balance issues as well as the occasional easter egg with pandering.
