Well... There are a bunch of original species, but I picked up the names just watching it, so you should be alright. I mean, probably. I don't know if you'll be fine. But you should be.

I saw Wakfu in Netflix the other day but I had trouble finding it again. I did manage to catch an episode on TV, and the animation was beautiful, voice acting and lip synching weren't great, that might've just been that specific episode though. The characters seemed fun though. Definitely going to give the full series a shot.
