Pokémon Evolution/Capture/Release Thread

I wonder if they have deliberately had all the Eevee's in the main cast appear late in the series intentionally. Once this Eevee joins, we will have had three in main cast that will be around for about a total of just under 3 years assuming SM ends when expected (so the equivalent of when Ash catches a Pokemon a couple months into Unova, Kalos, or Alola or over a year into Hoenn or Sinnoh), and the previous two didn't really get a ton of screen time either. Of course I wouldn't totally rule out this one continuing to Gen 8 and evolving, but I'm not getting my hopes up either. I just wonder if they are doing this intentionally to not get people tired of it (I wouldn't personally ever get tired of Eevee) while still feeling like they can keep reusing the same Pokemon.

I hope Ash doesn't get it so he can finally catch another normal type that appears on route 2 in USUM...(just kidding)

I'm in the camp that wants this Eevee to evolve into some as-of-yet unrevealed Eeveelution in Gen VIII because, let's be honest, it would be a clever marketing strategy. Keep Eevee as it is for the rest of SM to promote LGPE, then evolve to insertnamehereeon when it's time to promote the new generation. Thus killing two birds with one Stone Edge. I want to see this kind of foresight and planning.

I'd lean Ash over Lillie simply because Ash still has two slots filled, and if it is LGE said Eevee could have Bouncy Bubble and thus free the authors from having a Water-type.

...Though that means Wimpod gets to join Houndour, Phantump, and the other 'Ash could have had this mon that only appeared once' club for certain.

He doesn't need a Water-type or a Pokemon that knows a Water-type move.

....True, but I am just raising a reason Eevee might be on his hand. Plus the fact is that between the two, Ash is far better at showing off new moves than Lillie is.

Nothing of value would be lost IMO. Most fans only like Wimpod because of its evo anyway, which I think suits Guzma more than it suits Ash.

Am I the only one who want an episode with both Misty and a Wimpod in it, simply to see what happens when the two meet?
Funny, but my hopes on that aren't high since we've gone over ten years without a Misty/Surskit encounter.

I'm sorry, but I see absolutely no justifiable reason why Ash would catch an Alolan Geodude when he has an Electric-type and a Rock-type already. And the "Ash tried catching one before tho" excuse doesn't necessarily work either; people tried that with Dunsparce, and look how that turned out.

If anyone on the cast should get an Alolan Geodude/Graveler/Golem, it ought to be Sophocles. He's the Electric type enthusiast of Ash's classmates, he has an Alolan Golem in the games alongside a Togedemaru and Vikavolt, and haven't we already had Kiawe catch his in-game ace of Alolan Marowak? Even with the Dewpider that Lana didn't catch, it living in the school's grounds would leave the door open for another shot.

Honestly, it seems way more sensible to give this Electric type to Sophocles than randomly dump it on Ash for no discernable reason again. Remember the Grubbin scenario, when Ash seemed set on catching the pre-evolved form of a species Sophocles would later catch? I can't be the only one experiencing déjà vu.

This entire series has been a hot mess. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Ash got the A-Geodude as senseless as it is. Regardless of who he captures, they are bound to spend the rest of eternity forgotten at Oak's ranch.

The Eevee has grown on me, and I want it to join the main series, but my fears about it's future are shared above. Will it stay at Oak's forever? Or does anyone think that it will become the 2nd Pikachu and be on Ash's team for the rest of eternity and never evolve?
