SwSh There are petitions about Gamefreak fixing the 'Galar Pokedex' thing

well i think that the announcement was made again (because nothing new was stated) to help people understand that they aren't changing their decision so we can move on and the new batch of info for swsh can come.

....Hand over face.....

That is not going to do that: it is just going to make more problems. At this point I am just wondering when Nintendo is going to step in and force them to say 'we will support the game with the additional Pokemon post launch'.

Because I'd rather that happen before something like Town is made to flop because of mass boycott, or as I often keep worrying, a fan hacks into Game Freak and releases every internal corporate document out like they're Sony.

I still feel "bad decision" is not the right way to address. Cause that implies that they weren't aware of the outcome of it. And very sure they're fully aware how badly people would take the news. Now "painful decision" sounds better cause they more than likely expected backlash

well i never said it would work. I just think that is why it was made. We are due for a batch of info for swsh. Last thing they want is a riot in the comments or a bunch of dislikes over the dex because fans think they aren't listening. Esp when the dex isnt even going to be talked about in the next batch of info, id imagine. It was probably their way of trying to filter people from spamming about the dex.

Funny thing: the japanese twitter account did not post about the message from Masuda. They clearly think Japanese people have peacefully accepted the dexit while the problem is the rest of the world.

....Wait, aren't we the ones who have heard they aren't happy about it either? That seems off...

I don't know how to feel about this game any more. I will probably enjoy it, but some of the decisions they've made really irk me and make me want to skip - specifically, Dynamax, when we could have had... something which fits into the world of Pokemon better and doesn't feel like a flashy shonen power? Although I like some of the new features from the 3D gens such as story based post-game episodes, I strongly dislike this new "gimmick of the gen" thing they're doing in order to let us live out a power/fame fantasy which we don't want. And what's with the lack of actual challenges in the game, like confusing caves/side quests/places to explore? We're just handed everything these days for doing nothing. >:/ The exploring and getting lost was fun, goddammit! Also, what is stopping them from animating moves properly, like in Colosseum or Battle Revolution? They should remove redundant moves and abilities like Sugimori said, which would ease up the workload.

I'm sorry to tell you this, but Colosseum also has like only three animations per Pokémon, and while they do look better than the 3DS games, it is not by much. I mean, they even removed Blastoise's cannons for no reason at all.

They probably think they will just accept the decision. Japanese people are really polite, they don't usually go on social media offending other people for something like a game decision. I'm not saying they are not disappointed, but the fact that they didn't start a revolution for this may make GF think that it's better not to address them something they didn't really scream about, risking to let aware of the actual situation in the rest of the world even those who still are not.

If Dragon Ball is aware that 'we like Broly and next movie should use him'....I am not going to count on Japanese isolation/centralism being in play as much anymroe.

I admit that I gave PBR grief for not having a story mode or Stadium's extra content, but it's a very good looking game even today.

Dexit is still a popular topic on the Japanese Matome forum.

Sorry, I corrected myself. I didn't mean in that sense. What I meant is that maybe in GF's mind is better to leave the japanese account free (as much as possible) of the backlash because there are people who don't really check other countries accounts, so posting the message from masuda would have brought the revolution on the japanese account, where usually people are really polite (like it happened with Masuda and Ohmori socials).

I think people should stop addressing Masuda every bad decision about the games. TPCi is a billionaire company, do you really think that Masuda can just wake up one day and decide to cut off 400 pokemon or to make a statement about the future of the franchise? Every single thing he or Ohmori say about the games is the result of something that has been discussed over and over again and the final decision about it has been taken by both TPCi and Nintendo.
Leave that poor man alone, it's not just because of him if the games are what they are nowdays and what he says is just what TPCi wants him to say.
I understand that this isn't Masuda's decision, but it's clear he has no idea how to effectively deliver bad news. Him going "it's just too difficult/pointless" with the NatDex and the Battle Frontier caused a much worse backlash than going into specifics would. If Home really is going to be more than just Bank 2.0, then why not just explain that? That way it wouldn't feel like Pokemon Prison as many refer to it as. This isn't mentioning how the statement completely ignores that the problem is transferring all Pokemon into one game, not that you wouldn't be able to play with favorites ever again.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Masuda did not write a single word of that letter. Usually it's the marketing who takes care of this kinda of stuff.

He already stated he'll talk about Home at a later date. Guess people missed that due to blind rage. No I'm pretty sure we all know, literally nobody would care what reasoning they'd have for the exclusions cause people would be pissed no matter what

Home is now a quite difficult argument to reach. With this new decision you have to act really careful about the usage of Home. These are the scenarios:

  • You need to transfer a Tyranitar. You pay for Bank, you pay for Home and then transfer it to Sw/Sh.
  • You need to transfer a shiny Maractus. You pay for bank, you pay for Home and then wait till the game that will feature Maractus. This means you have to keep paying home waiting for that moment in case your pokemon mysteriously disappears.
My strong suggestion (as someone who recently lost three shinies in Bank): don't use Home and Bank as a deposit of pokemon. Use them and pay for them only when and if you need to transfer pokemon from a game to another. Don't leave your pokemon there, leave them in the gen 8 game they will be in till the moment gen 9 comes along, then tranfer them to those games.

What exactly do you want him say other than "We'll add them in later"? Cause that's more so just what you want to hear, not just a response.
They should have better said nothing rather than this honestly. This is just a clear "we don't care" written in the official site. It will bring the storm back and stronger, I'm quite sure about this.

This is literally a no win situation. If they say nothing the fans will claim that they don't care cause there'd be no response. But as they announced they're sticking with their decision makes fans think they don't care. Nothing they'd do would make a difference.
