Feather Dance aye? You can’t really fault how Rowlet has learned new moves so often throughout the series. All of Ash’s Pokemon have had plenty of moveset development between them this series actually.

Will their battle start in this episode and end in the next?

It's even worse in this case because this might be Rowlet's last major battle, so he might not even get to use Feather Dance against any other opponents
There is still Gladio and Guzma, and maybe even Royal Mask himself!
but the fact that Hau's Decidueye is going to have to lose to Rowlet? It's very disappointing. I know full well "this is the anime" and I shouldn't be surprised, but I thought Hau would have lost to someone else in a more dignified manner.
Why though? Hau is clearly outranked by them, he only defeated them in the first place because they were clumsy.

Looking forward to seeing Toucannon again, especially with the Pikipek featuring

Hopefully this will allow the page I have created for the flock to be mainspaced

Sorry for the delay, was out shopping

Summaries and cast list, as provided by Adamant

Satoshi and Mokuroh are training for their battle against Hau. Dodekabashi and the other members of Mokuroh's family come rushing over to cheer them on as well, and they say they'll teach them the new move "Feather Dance". But...

Summary:
Satoshi's second match is finally going to start! His opponents are Hau and Junaiper, and Mokuroh gets some specialized training in before its battle against this formidable opponent!! Satoshi's friends from school are worried, thinking there's no way Satoshi can win if he uses Mokuroh, but the two pay this no mind and are eagerly awaiting the battle!! But then the Dodekabashi and Kerarappa that used to live with Mokuroh rush over so they can cheer it on in its battle, and when they see Mokuroh all fired up, it appears they're going to teach it the new move "Feather Dance". But what is the actual outcome of the training session?

Haha this cracks me up.

But also, is it just me or... does this sound like another 1vs1? Do you think they’re gonna pull some crap like starting bird vs bird in this episode and then cramming the other QFs into next episode after their match concludes?!

Satoshi promised to use Pikachu in the next match, and it would be out of character if he broke this promise. Pikachu vs Alolan Raichu is probably going to happen.

Given how Rowlet learned Seed Bomb instead of Bullet Seed, I wouldn't be surprised if it learned Roost instead of Feather Dance since it sleeps a lot

Difference here is that Bullet Seed is a move that Rowlet can't learn, so Seed Bomb was the closest thing. Feather Dance is a move Rowlet can learn.

It sure seems like the second round will also be one-on-one matches. This was foreseeable, considering that James only has one Pokémon with him.

So I take it both top 16 and top 8 rounds will be 1 vs 1, probably top 4 will be 3 vs 3 and the final will be either 3 vs 3 or 6 vs 6.

We won't get a 6v6 since not even Ash has 6 Pokemon

Ash has 5 and we know for a fact that Gladion doesn't have any more besides his 4

So yeah, 3v3 at the highest

I'm going to rage so hard if Alolan Raichu is defeated the hands of Pikachu...

They could give Gladion one more Pokémon and do a 5 vs 5. Rivals are known to get surprise Pokémon before their league battles, and Alain magically turned up with a full team.
