Pokemon Legends: Arceus General Discussion

I have to admit the all Captains thing is a bit bittersweet. I like the idea of that but I also see GF trying to inject Gym Leaders in the game. I mean, It's like they can't resist giving a game the same structure. They said this game took place when people and humans kept separate lives and yet here come back trial captains and trainers battles. Same thing for the Arceus/Rotom Phone. Just find something else than a phone, come on.

I was not expecting to see a trailer in my subscription box this morning, very surprised by that.

Kleavor is pretty weird looking, but I've thought that since the moment it got leaked. But, I am always happy to see the bug type get some more recognition, it's nowhere near my favorite type, but it's nice to see it get some spotlight. I am interested in the kind of Pokemon it is, a Noble Pokemon. I wonder how many of these noble Pokemon we will get, and what the others will be? I think Wyrdeer and Basculegion are definitely two others, and Hisuian Arcanine/new Growlithe evo will be another.

I am always excited to see more characters. The last two generations absolutely nailed it when it came to their characters, in personality/story and design, so I have high hopes for these guys.

Glad to see character customization is fully back, though I had feeling we would be seeing it eventually after the presents last month. I like how they even included the Dawn hairstyle as a hair option for Akari, so I'm sure will see the same with Rei having an option to have Lucas' hair. Some of the outfits we've seen so far are pretty cool, though I don't think I've seen any I like more than the main one.

It was probably because I watched the trailer while half asleep but during my first watch of it the part that got me the most excited was watching the player run around on the ride Pokemon, even though that's already been introduced. Idk why. I don't think I talked about it much when the last trailer dropped though. Wyrdeer definitely looks like it will be more than just a "get around the world faster" ride Pokemon. In the trailer there was clip of it leaping from one piece of land to another, so it definitely has more use than a fast land traveling Pokemon. When ORAS first released, I spent hours just souring around on Latios, but it always bugged me that I could never fly directly over the routes like that. Flying with Braviary definitely seems to fix that though. Also, the way we're able to actually throw pokeballs while on a ride Pokemon (as seen with Basculegion) is super cool.

Not sure if it's been mentioned here yet, but the official site also confirms that some of the Wardens will battle you, so the game isn't 100% Trainer-less:

Pokémon Battles against Other People
----
"The mingling of people and Pokémon is still not the norm in the Hisui region. People who live alongside Pokémon are rare, and people who lead their Pokémon in battle are even rarer. However, some people—such as certain wardens—have forged strong bonds with Pokémon and may challenge you to a battle."

She is like a mile from her Munchlax.

To be fair thats probably a much safer distance then how close the protag stands to their pokemon. Given moves like flamethrower and the such could easily hit you too.
She's just standing at enough distance to turn speed into jump power for when she needs to throw hands with you to win the fight after you knock out her Munchlax.

I’m wondering if the Noble Pokémon are JUST the Pokéride / HM Pokémon. Kleavor is shown cutting down trees in its area… really reminds me of Cut. we see a Warden for Wyrdeer I think, too, and the Psychic looking one could be for Braviary. You defeat or tame the Noble Pokémon, and it lends you its help in your journey (by way of the Arc phone probably).

I’m hoping this turns out to be true, because otherwise it feels too much like the Alolan trials honestly.

I don't think this is the case, since only Kleavor is marked as a Noble Pokemon, while Wyrdeer is marked as a special Pokemon. I think those Special Pokemon are ride Pokemon only.

I just realised something, all of the wardens bracelets are related to the pokemon they watch over.
Mai's bracelet has wyrdeer on it
Lians Bracelet looks vaugly like Kleavor
Iscan has the Basculegion colored bracelet with red lines on it
But they seem to specifically have Arezu's bracelet rotated in such a way we cant see the design on it in all the shots we have seen of her, all we know is that the mon has some connection with the color green.
(All the other bracelets are the colors of the body of the lord pokemon)

I just realized that when Pokemon are in the pasture they shrink in size, which makes sense from a standpoint of it being limited in space but is a bit weird to look at.

“There are special Pokémon in the Hisui region that have received a mysterious blessing. Some of these Pokémon, known as nobles, are particularly powerful, while others are said to willingly assist the people of the region.”

My understanding of the above is that all the Pokémon with the mysterious blessing (come on Arceus plates come on) are nobles, which include Wyrdeer etc. It does seem that only some nobles will be helping you and not all, though.

...and the others will try to kill you, yes.

Mai seems like marley's ancestor(she even have marley's japanese name mai) and Arezu is Saturn's

Who could the Lady pokemon that Arezu is guarding be? Also seems like Kleavor could be the equavalent for Cut? Who could be the strength pokemon and the one leaked shown to be climbing?

I'm also expecting voice acting in these games. When the player character got attacked, there were grunt/yelp noises. Those could be generic voices, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Im defenintly not expecting full voice acting, the most i could reasonably see is like Zelda, where they just make generic noises whenever you start speaking to them.

That would still be an improvement. The New Pokemon Snap also seems to have partial voice acting, so I don't see why this game can't have at least some.
