SV Leaks and/or Rumours Thread

It sounds like the term regional fake isn't even one that appears in the games: r/PokeLeaks - Regional Fakes/Convergent Species - Not an Actual or Relative Term; they are just simply new Pokemon.

It does kind of seem like the eel Pokemon probably aren't even clones of Dugtrio and Khu just called them that because he saw a cylindrical pokemon sticking out of a hole in the ground and just labeled it a copy.

I wonder if Khu probably would have called Throh/Sawk regional fakes (of Hitmonchan/Hitmonlee) if he had been leaking back then...

I agree. Khu has killed my hype more than anything. Kaka has restored my hype. We're getting more than we've ever got from Khu AND ESPECIALLY TPCI. Their marketing has been trash and its killing the hype.

My thoughts exactly, with the last part.

I’m not saying Khu is wrong, because maybe the games do have quests about Pokémon that look like other Pokémon or some other thing that highlights this phenomenon, but I’m wondering if the community’s interpretation of RFake as an actual concept and group of Pokémon is not correct. For example, Alomomola is not a fake of Luvdisc, just similar.

This is the first time Gamefreak has managed to hire a QA tester who leaks stuff like this in the many years pokemon has been a thing so theres a decent chance it won't happen again.
(I still want to know how a QA tester managed to grab hold of the games code)

I imagine the NDA for playtesters will have an even more insane clause for legal action if information is leaked.

And I don’t understand how Kaka has not been caught yet.

It's a real mystery. It's like did the whole of TPC take a sleeping pill? Their security teams aren't doing anything, their marketing teams aren't doing anything... who is still doing anything over there?

Also realized this thread rewatches itself if I reply to anything. Will have to remember that.
 
Huh? We’ve gotten leaks like this before. For XY we had a long list of descriptions of monsters and even a few names (like Inkay and its evo method). For USUM we had the very exciting Rainbow Rocket leak (seriously, realizing that that was real and not BS was an all-time Pokémon fandom moment for me). We knew everything about PLA going into it thanks to Khu.

Kaka’s leak is tame in comparison. A few vague descriptions, “I liked it,” a few cross-gen evos that no one can agree on. This is more direct than Khu, but it’s nothing. I’m more excited, but I still don’t feel like I know very much about the game at all.

Anyway, while I appreciate all Khu has leaked and continues to leak for us, for me, directly stating things instead of making us solve some riddle is obviously better and more interesting. And that’s to say nothing of the breath of fresh air personality-wise.

So I do hope the next game’s leak season gives us another kaka, if not someone better.

I prefer Kaka to Khu just because I feel like I've actually learned some solid information from Kaka. The only worthwhile information I can remember learning from Khu was confirmation that Kaka was legit.

With that said I don't really need more blurry images....I'd be happy with a drip feed of stuff like "there's a ghost dog" or "there's a new spider mon".

Although I do agree that this flood of information from Kaka is a bit overwhelming, we've already learned a lot and it's only been a week. We have about 4 months left to go before release....

Agreed, and riddles are usually fun but Khu sucks the fun out of riddles for me. I also just don't like him as a person but whatever lol

playtester who's been the one mostly leaking things this past week.


On a side note, the dude(s)? that leaked gigantamax forms a week before Sw/Sh because they got the official guidebook early were fined like 150 K. 150 K just for leaking a few pages from the book of unrevealed Gmax forms.

Kaka is screwed when TPC get to him lol
