I would want him to bring his strongest Pokemon just so we can watch him utterly destroy the first gyms. He probably won't bring any with him aside from Pikachu but the writers could always throw us a curve ball and have him bring a Tauros or something.

Well, Paul has badges from 4 regions at this point I think and is in general a strong trainer so his Pokemon probably respect him and trust that he's making them stronger.
