During a battle against a trainer, I would leave part way through for some reason. When I came back I didn't remember what I was doing, so I kept trying to catch it. Wasted a good dozen balls on that battle.

Re: What do you do wih your starter? I always keep my starter in my party, unless I need to put together a team for a gym. I try to keep it as the top-leveled or close to there.
