What have you seen too many others do?

I see a lot of "Protagonist woke up to here {pokemon} outside, he was getting his pokemon today!" or something else along those lines. Why can't it start in the middle of the day? Or at night? It's always f****** morning...Anyway, of course I always see the general cliches, they'll always be here to stay.
If they wake up at any point other than morning, you'll get into the even worse cliché that is 'OH NOES! HE OVERSLEPT!'

What he means is, why is it never that the trainer gets his first Pokemon any more than a few minutes after he wakes up?

He's asking, why does the trainer never, you know, have to wait a few hours before getting it?

Well, with mine they all had to make journeys of various lengths (one person came from Sinnoh) to Cherrygrove City to get their pokémon from a representative of the Pokémon League. Not a starter in sight. :D
