Hi there, since I didn't see anything on the subject I thought I would create a topic to let people be aware of these cool unlockables.

Similar to Pokemon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum Versions there is secret unlockable Wallpaper for your PC Box that is accessable in Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver Versions. In addition this time around, there are also three Pokemon Eggs that can be unlocked through this method.

To get started, first go to the Violet City Pokemon Center. Look up your five digit Trainer ID which can be found on your Trainer Card. Next, once you have your Trainer ID number go on over to Filb's Secret Phrase Generator which can be found here. Enter your Trainer ID number into the box, select the first game option (HeartGold or SoulSilver) and Select your game language (English Version is the Second option). Once done, click the button to get your phrases generated! Now back in the Violet City Pokemon Center, talk to the man to the right of the PC and tell him any of the phrases that are shown to unlock that Box Wallpaper or Pokemon Egg.

If you have the Japanese Version of Pokemon HeartGold or SoulSilver Version you can follow the same steps just choose Japanese Version as the language (which is the first option under language). All of the Japanese Secret Phrases have been revealed totaling up to 8 Box Wallpapers and 3 Pokemon Eggs.

As for the English version, only 2 Box Wallpapers have been revealed and 1 Pokemon Egg. Here are the ones that have been revealed:

hm... though i already knew this

i checked there today and it said the next ones were coming out on the
26th of march. how strange o_O

either way, this mareep is so useless now that my flaaffy evolved into ampharos today. but now i get an extra wall paper ;D

I heard about this in the mystery thread, but cool nonetheless.

Is there anything special about this Mareep or is it completely useless? You can even catch Mareep on the route right next to that town.

the pokemon eggs are nothing special, they're just sort of there to help get pokemon super effective against your rival (mareep-->totodile, slugma-->chikorita, wooper-->cyndaquil. ps, those are the remaining pokemon ;P)

Now if only I knew Japanese and could understand what was in the video.

I'll be waiting till the English version of that video come out.

I'm so glad it was Mareep that was released today. I've been loitering in Violet waiting for it

This is so cool! Those blank wallpapers have been taunting me. Thank you for this.

wow... those are awesome. When I get my game back, I'm going to try to get those.

I was hoping that they'd reveal the Slugma egg code today, given that that's the only one of any value, when wild Mareep and Wooper are sitting in the grass a few hundred steps away. Oh well.

That is true. I could not be more sick of Wooper.

Is this an official site reveal thing? This seems like the sort of thing that would be revealed on an official site.

Finally found this thread after some searching around.

Another new unlockable Wallpaper for use in the Pokemon Box in Bill's PC has been released!

Heart (released April 2nd, 2010)
1.png

It features a shadow (they call it something else, forgot the name though) of Ho-Oh with an Orange and Red sky background sort of like a sunset.

The next two things to be revealed on April 9, 2010 are:
たましい Tamashii (To be released on April 9th, 2010)
2.png

Wooper Pokemon Egg (To be revealed April 9, 2010)

So what does everyone think so far? Thanks.

You know if you go to the Filb.de place, select Platinum, put in your HG/SS Trainer ID, the phrases it pops out work for HGSS? I've already unlocked all the wallpapers, and I'm REALLY not too worried about getting another fucking wooper.

The word is silhouette. ENGLISH DEGREE TO THE RESCUE.

I was going to try and figure out which Platinum codes vary with the new HeartGold and SoulSilver wallpaper, but if you have it figured out then that is much easier.

I think the Wooper does say Primo on it, but I really don't care as I have enough as it is.

That is the word, silhouette! Thanks. ;)

I made a discovery relevant to this and posted it on my blog.

I discovered it first. <_< Though no one listened for some reason... >_>

Also, I actually did try converting the Japanese Words into English words for the eggs (though really, only Slugma is of any use). Just found the same combination of squiggles in a Platinum one, and found out what they were in English (since as mentioned, a direct translation doesn't work as the words are different, though the combinations are the same).

Didn't work though, which sucks. Though there still probably is a way if the addresses for what's where in each version are found, considering there is a difference to begin with.

I had no idea about this, nor would I have figured it out on my own. Thanks for the info.

Please let me explain the reason we're not releasing all of them at once. This is a remake of the official Japanese generator and all we wanted to do is bringing this feature over to players outside of Japan while respecting TPC's decisions in terms of revealing them.

Pokémon Daisuki Club gave you just two new wallpapers once a month and they sure had reasons to that. We respect this and designed ours to behave in a similar way.

Of course, diehard cheaters probably wouldn't agree or understand my point, but I'm convinced that additional content being made available little by little makes the game more enjoyable over a longer period by bringing in fresh elements one can look forward to. I believe the Japanese staff had the same idea in mind while designing their official tool.

Is there an official English one, though? Is yours the official English one?

I agree with you on the additional content thing (hell, I'm downloading new Mass Effect 2 DLC right now), but I think you're going a little far with the "diehard cheaters" comment in regards to this. An Event pokemon is something for which I will wait eagerly with bated breath—but a bunch of box wallpapers that have no impact on the game world and add literally no playability, when the means to unlock them is available to me, without hacking, quite legitimately, but simply under a different guise?

No, sir, I'm not going to wait. I'm going to unlock the wallpapers in one fell swoop and then quickly, quietly, move on. And I do not appreciate the insinuation that I or anyone who shares this perspective is a "diehard cheater" for doing so.
