The "Is My Pokémon Hacked?" Thread

Huh? And when did this happen? Ahem, Bulbapedia article.

hmm.... maybe i just heard someone say it.... then why the heck did they add the thing into the game if its never coming out. and i'm almost sure it was because people are always complaining of how the Japanese got it and they're still waiting on it..?

It hasn't. To list all the Japanese Wi-Fi events:
Secret Key (Pt), Members Card (Pt), Oak's Letter (Pt), NZ Jirachi (DPt), Yellow Forest (HGSS), Enigma Stone (HGSS), Mew (DPtHGSS), Winner's Path (HGSS), Goon's Scizor (DPtHGSS) and Ash's Pikachu (HGSS).

At least Secret Key, Yellow Forest and Mew were repeated as well.

And the next Wi-Fi event, is Liberty Ticket (BW).

To be honest, I'd want an Azure Flute event, but it seems like Japan are focusing on Black and White now.

So am I allowed to trade it, by saying that it was obtained through a hacked azure flute?

It's unlikely that B&W look to the same location/server as Gen IV to find their events. It's likely a different item or Pokemon could be given out to each set of games simultaneously, if TPCi decided to. Whether they'll bother doing the Azure Flute, though, is impossible to say at this point. It's odd that even Japan hasn't received it, as they tend to get all the event items. North America has gone without one of two of them before, on certain games (not all Gen III's tickets were released for each version), but never Japan.

I wouldn't be surprised if Japan gets the Azure Flute late 2010/Early 2011. TPC obviously don't forget about old games, like how the Mew, Jirachi, Scizor and Pikachu events are for all Gen IV games, not just HGSS.

I obtained a japanese ditto through GTS for breeding shineys purposes and wondering whether is fake or not, and if so would it be safe to breed with it or just release it?
(I personally think the person used a masterball hack so he/she could catch whatever pokemon straight away)

nothing screams hack to me but since it's at level 1 I can't tell for sure. what are it's Iv's? if they are normal then more than likly its a RNG breed shiny.

i'm so damned paranoid about hacked pokemon, and the lack if information on this one's summary is bugging me.

Pokemon Species: Torkoal
Nickname: none
Ribbons: none
Ball: Ultra ball
Area encountered: Hoenn'
Level encountered: arrived at Lv. 28'
OT: CORY
Moves: SmokeScreen, Fire Spin, Body Slam, Protect
Stats: Attack 52, Defense 92, Sp. Attack 66, Sp. Defense 49, Speed 21

the reason i'm concerned is because its summary is so...lacking. all it says is, 'Modest nature, Jul. 16 2010, Hoenn, Arrived at Lv. 28'. i received a Growlithe from the GTS a while ago and its summary is, "Apr. 29 2010, Route 7, Apparently met at Lv. 18' and my Torkoal isn't that in depth. :\ hell, i also got a Horsea and its summary was more extensive than my Growlithe. is this normal?

Organizing the eight zillion pokemon I have, I ran across this and wanted to check it. If it's a hack, it gets round-boxed (planning on trying out for Nationals, don't want to get dinged for accidentally using a hack, so...).

Species: Jynx

Nickname: Something in Japanese

Ball: Master

Area: Migrated from Hoenn @ Lv. 50

Level: 50

OT: some Japanese female

Moves: Pound, Ice Punch, Doubleslap, Powder Snow

Stats: HP: 128 (IV 6 or 7) Attack 41 (IV 30 - 31) Defense 41 (IV 2 - 3) Sp. Atk 134 (IV 28 - 29) Sp. Def 111 (IV 22 - 23) Speed 109 (IV 18 - 19)

Nature: Bashful

Ability: Oblivious

I'll keep digging and see if I have any more.

I'm pretty sure the Nationals for this year have already taken place. The only Pokemon VGC 2010 event left to take place are the World Championships, in Hawaii; in just a couple weeks.

Anyway...

looks like a hack. To be migrated from Hoenn, the Pokemon either needed to have been caught or hatched in a Hoenn game. Jynx and Smoochum aren't catchable in Ruby, Sapphire, or Emerald... and hatching it obviously wouldn't result in it being stored in a Master Ball.

Can always go for 2011 Nationals, right? Anyways, thanks for the info. Jynx has been tossed out.
