The height is 166 pixels. If the text is made smaller, it will be fine.

I'm quite sure that because I don't have a banner mine is fine, right?

How about my current sig? I plan to keep this one a while. D8; If it's too huge, I can resize the image, or axe the text, whichever will make it smaller.
 
The banner is just under the limit, pixel-wise. The text adds up to make it around 218 pixels in total. I would suggest using the banner only.

On that note, you might want to get somebody from the Artist's Alcove to get your trainer card resized properly. The JPEG image you have now looks really bad.

Also, how did you get 144? I got 128. (16 times 2 ain't equal to 48, you know XD But also, I measured it.)

If the whole signature only has text, will the width limit apply? I asked this because I predict that my signature may be too long in the future, and because text can be moved to the next line, it will probably lengthen in some browsers, making it too long.

No, the width rule will not apply to text. There isn't much need to worry unless you plan on filling ten lines of text in your signature.
 
Could someone check the height on mine? When I checked it was 158 pixels, I just want to get someone to confirm because I might have measured it wrong.
 
133, from the top line (right above the words) to the bottom of the smile of the face.

From the start of the signature line, 148.
 
Dopes my recent sig pic the right size? I made it myself, and it took me 30 minutes to make it, plus took all the trouble to upload it on Tinypic, but I'm still wondering if it's the right size.
 
It's around 206 pixels, which is over.
