A question on stats and evolution

Hey everyone! Sorry if this is a no brainer. I dug through the wiki and couldn't find an answer, so here I am. Sorry if this is the wrong section!

So here's the setup.

I have two pikachu. Both with identical IV's, both level 1. Pikachu A, I use a thunderstone on, then raise to level 50. Pikachu B, I raise to level 50, then use a thunderstone. Assuming both Pokemon got the same EV's, would their stats be identical? Or would pikachu A have the stat advantage because he was evolved sooner?

Thanks for the help!

Re: A question on stats and evolution

No, they'll end up with the same stats regardless of when they evolved.

If I traded Pokemon from my Ruby cart to my FireRed cart, can I trade them back again to the Ruby cart? I want to change their names before I transfer them permanently to SoulSilver and then to Black...

There's no reason you shouldn't be able to.

Of course you can Pal Park to SoulSilver from FireRed just as easily as Ruby, so there isn't really a reason to trade it back after changing the nickname.

assuming you don't wipe your save on Ruby and start a new game, yes, you can freely trade between gen 3 games. The only thing that is permanent is when you Transfer pokemon between gens.

EDIT: damn, NINJA'D x|

i think she was implying not that she would have to trade it back to Ruby only to transfer the pokemon but that in order to change the names could she still trade back to Ruby from F/R to do it before she decided on transferring forward.

or i may just be sleep deprived, if this is the case, carry on.

Lol, I think you got it right. I have all the Pokemon I want to eventually transfer to Black in my FireRed cart. Some of those Pokemon were traded from Ruby, so they cannot be renamed unless I trade them back to Ruby (and no, I haven't wiped my save in that cart.)

I guess this means I'm good. Thanks a bunch! :bounce:

EDIT: @TM2-Megatron, it does help to know I don't need to trade the renamed ones back to FireRed. If I can Pal Park from either one, that will certainly save me time. Thanks!

I'm full of questions lately. :dizzy: Not sure if this is the right place, but can anyone explain to me how legal.exe works? All I know is that it's a program to check whether your traded Pokemon are hacked or not, so...

  • Is this completely foolproof?
  • What do I need in order to do this, aside from my DS and carts? Do I need any special hardware?
  • Can this damage my game in any way?

How do I make a bad clone without pokemon stadium for gold version?

that should really be asked in the Dubious Disc's Simpe Q's Simple A's thread i think, as more ppl there might know.

This is another thing for the Dubious Disc's SQSA thread.

I have a question about the Wi-fi club in Gen5.

If I select the No Restriction battle rule will a pokemon which is for example Level 65 stay that level for the battle or will it drop down to Level 50 like in Random Wi-fi battles?

Or is that what the Flat Rules is for?

Thanks.

Flat rules will put all yours and the ones you're battling with to level 50.

Hi, I have a question here.

* Master ball
* Use a move that prevent it from escaping, such as Mean look. I'm not sure how things work in HG/SS, but you can track Latias, right? Be close to a building or a route change, then go back and forward until your Latias is there; then enter some grass. Either with max repel or not.

Isn't that sort of what the game is about? And sort of "exploring" if they're good or not. Anyway, maybe this will help you out or/and give you some tips; http://www.smogon.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=84

Well, it sounds as if they went as far as to rig the catch rate on it to be unique compared to every other Pokémon so it would have the Light Ball in the first place, as if it had the same catch rate as RB Pikachu, it would have the same item. So they probably knew they had some sort of plan for it.
Sorry for the late reply, but what do you mean "they rigged the catch rate?" The catch rate for Pikachu's always the same for every game, and in Yellow (the one that was in question), you can't even meet it in the wild, so that's irrelevant.

Plus, there are plenty of features a transferred Pokemon is subject to in later-released games, including characteristics for Gen 3 Pokemon in future generations. And if you'd say characteristics were thought of anytime during generation 3... don't know what to say to that. The decision to have a Pikachu originating from Yellow hold a Light ball could simply be to encourage players to buy that game, to make use of the Time Machine, make that particular Pikachu more unique, or... mostly anything, really.
