She and Brock appear in flashbacks about Charizard. They don't actually show up. They will probably be seen for 30 seconds in Kanto flashbacks.

Maybe the summary's just wrong? Has that ever happened before? Because it's so odd about Oak sending Charizard, unless there'll be a flashback showing that, I don't know, Charizard was waiting for Satoshi when he came back from Sinnoh, or something.

no the scan was correct when i first translated it. satoshi tells N and his friends about it and then asks oak to send him over. he's probably happy in that scene you saw because maybe he's going to send out charizard to battle.

but i could be wrong. i did ask someone if my translation was right and they said yeah, though.
No, I'm not doubting the translation, although I didn't read it. I just think it's weird Charizard's with Oak. Which is why I'm asking if the summaries (not translations) have ever been wrong.

And haha, @Fighting Misty, you really do live up to your username, huh?

Charizard being at Oak's would be strange, but if that's the case the last opening would mean Squirtle and Primeape are there too, which would be odd.

OMG ash just had a bro-fist moment with Charizard in the Pokemon Smash preview. Maximum hype levels achieved!

So, these flashbacks even go as far back as when Ash first caught Charizard [Charmander]? I really wonder what the occasion is.

To get younger viewers in on Charizard's history, and why Ash is so connected to it.

I was refering back to Charizard's return and major focus in the first place, but I suppose I can only assume he's back just because the writers felt like bringing him back. *shrugs*

Mostly that. I wouldn't give it too much attention to be perfectly honest.

I don't understand why he didn't bring back all the Kanto starters for a Kanto reunion. Guess Bulbasaur and Squirtle are not popular enough.

Because seeing Charmander reminds him of Charizard so he wants to see him again. And no, Bulbasaur and Squirtle are nowhere near as popular as Charizard

This is looking like its gonna be one hell of an ep. All the flashbacks are looking nice, and Charizard just looks epic. Im guessing that is steel wing and not wing attack. Looks like he's using it to block thunderpunch. Haven't been this excited for an ep in a while haha

Misty is brought up at least once every generation even if she doesn't show up. I don't understand how this is any different than the Misty lure in DP or her flashbacks in BF.

And Brock already had two flashbacks when Dawn mentioned him too.

Difference is that back than in AG people saw Misty in person not too long ago before flashback happened.
Since it past 7 years we actually saw Misty in any form(lure=/= character), its only natural that people re going to be more excited now about seeing her character ahgain considering how much time has passed last time thy saw her.

Another difference is that this is going to be flashback with speaking role and not only ,montage of pictures.

Personally i can't blame anyone for being excited and happy over this, because i share same sentiment too. Its actually great that writers are finally starting to treat this show with more continuity and references to past, affirming existence of previous Ash companions and impact they left on anime and his story. In form of adding more content on current plot by giving new generations insight in anime history explaining from where Charizard came and its origins.

Such things only increase quality of show making it more credible.

Misty's last and final appearance in an episode was AG134, "A real Cleffa Hanger" that took place literally right before the Battle Frontier arc started. She appears one more time in the Mastermind special but that was it.

Perhaps this changes and flashback serves as prelude toward actual in person appearance in future. Dunno about you but "Real Cleffa Hanger" didn't seemed like something i would call anyone "finale" and since her story was left open(like her dreams, aims, unset future) having unanswered things i believe that wasn't last we will see from her.

I don't know they were there for long time and they didn't really do anything

So they are flashbacks but they are speaking flashbacks not just a picture. That's probably the best way to go I don't want to see Ash get ganked with insults AGAIN.

I don't think Misty would insult Ash for no reason. Judging by AG returns she likes to tease him out of endearment and sometimes bite, but as far as insults goes she is more grown up since Kanto days not exploding unless provoked (such as Colonel Hanson or her sisters did).

The good news is, now we don't have to say Misty was last seen in any shape or form during MoMP, which will go down as one of the worst Pokemon episodes ever, dubbed or subbed. ;D

Anyway, this seems like a great episode, so I'll still check it out.

The flashback in which Ash caught Charmander is inaccurate. Charmander didn't slap the Poke Ball before going into it in the original episode. In EP011, Ash threw the Poke Ball and Charmander rushed towards the ball before it was sucked in.

Reminds me of Ash's Kanto outfit when the show first went digital in the last 12 eps of Johto.

I actually kind of prefer seeing Charmander slapping the Poke Ball to get in. It isn't accurate, but it looks so much cuter and the show has better animation than it did back in the first season anyway. The brofist between Ash and Charizard was so adorable too.

I really don't thing it is Steel Wing, why wouldn't it be Metal colored like Metal Claw and Iron Tail??

That looks more like wing attack to me. wouldnt steel wing look a little like iron tail and be all metal like?

Yea id say so, though we haven't seen steel wing in best wishes yet so it could be. I don't know if id rather he had Steel wing or Wing Attack lol.
