Writers' Workshop General Chat Thread

diamondpearl876 has been patiently waiting in the Review Game for some time now, pleeeease check it out. It's only one chapter of your choice of two very good stories, and you're guaranteed a review in return. Don't make me take it again!

I can do it but I might be a few days, so if someone else wants to leap in first go ahead.

Also, congratulations @Flaze! This is good encouragement to sit down and read the whole thing at some point since I don't think I've gone near it for a year :p

I had a very rare moment of inspiration during the usual walk today. Since I don't have a poetry thread and am unlikely to think of anything else, I may as well post it here:

The sakura, the pale flowers opening,
Ephemerally blooms, gorgeously fragile,
Memories stirred, of love unrequited.

I'll hold you tot hat you know :p

Hey guys! Today is a special day for Nintendo. ^^ Why? Fire Emblem has now been around for exactly 25 years! I don't mean to sound like I'm just fishing for reviews, but you can't say that reading FE fanfiction wouldn't be a good way to celebrate this milestone anniversary. ;P

About Diamondpearl's stories, I haven't actually looked into them before. I'll be sure to consider doing so if I ever feel like reading something. ^^

That new Jurassic World trailer may have killed my enthusiasm for the movie. :/

Well, I read Survival Project (or what I could find of it) quite recently, and I absolutely loved it, so I guess I could try my paw at reviewing, though I can't exactly take part in the big important Review Game due to not actually posting anything. But I may review anyway. Or try to.

Ooh, that's exciting news. Pity Fire Emblem doesn't get any of the great celebrations some of the other series get. What with its popularity being raised somewhat by Awakening, you'd expect something done for it. Or maybe they are doing something and I just don't know about it.

Also, diamondpearl876, if you like Pokemon Conquest, you'll definitely like Fire Emblem too. Actually, going back to what I said earlier, I'll review Survival Project if and when you buy Path of Radiance. Quite possibly one of my absolute favourite games ever, and unlike Awakening, it's under-appreciated. In fact, everyone here should play it. No excuses. :p

Path of Radiance is probably the only Fire Emblem game that I have had any interest in (I blame Ike in Smash bros for that). If Gamecube titles ever pop up on the Wii U eshop, maybe I'll pick it up there.

Can't blame you for that. It looks like your average "Monsters-Run-Amok-And-Devour-People-But-Miraculously-Doesn't-Eat-Children" movie to me, not exactly a dinosaur movie like Jurassic Park 1. Think I'll watch a Danish-produced Wild West movie starring Mads Mikkelsen instead (Yeah, it's a thing).

I never had an interest in Pokemon Conquest. Then again, many of the Pokemon spin-offs don't grab my interest. Don't get me wrong, I love a few (Pokemon Stadium 2, Pokemon Snap, Pokemon Battle Revolution, the Pokepark games), but I've just only ever been a big fan of the mainstream Pokemon games.

@Lord Kyuubi; Yeah, although Japan is getting a concert for the anniversary. Still, hopefully NoA will acknowledge it in some way since fans out west assuredly know Marth debuted in 1990 thanks to Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS. Also, two days ago was the 10th anniversary of Path of Radiance! Happy birthday to Ike as well. ^^ It's definitely a big year for FE! Radiant Dawn is my favorite game in the series though, which is why Dawn of Darkness is a sequel to it. And Ike is one of my favorite video game characters ever, so of course I had to write some fics with him!

It's just too bad we won't be getting the new 3DS Fire Emblem this year. 2016 release for the west, ugh... But that could very well be due to NoA trying to cram Japan's two versions of the game into one whole game card.

Yes and yes. That is by far the most appropriate usage of that image ever possible, and I love it.

also i have been doing so much reading these past two days, wowza.

"deity" not "diety"

Only pointing this out because my brain has been turned to mush by circuit analysis so it took me an embarrassingly long time to unscramble that typo.

Not submitting through the form because I live by my own rules. Lots of fun questions!

You know, screw it, I don't want to have to send out PMs to everyone, so anyone who wants to test run it can go do that here.
So I've taken this questionnaire and your previous one, took out a few questions that didn't apply to my story (like political stances) and threw them into a text document so I could use them for my characters and keep track of them for future reference. With one line for a question and one for an answer, no spacing between them, all of your questions pile up to 278 lines.

I love looking at stuff like this. Data is beautiful, as are these questions and the answers to them! :D
