I would have to see a Steel/Dragon Hydreigon with Levitate. A three headed steel dragon would look mean. A Mega Dragonite that can keep its types or becomes Dragon/Water would be sweet. Mega Feraligatr that is Water/Dragon since Mega Charizard X is Fire/Dragon and Mega Sceptile is Grass/Dragon.

Mega Feraligatr would be awesome as a Water/Dragon. I feel Drasna could have been part of the Draconids apart from being family of Lance and Clair, just so we can obtain a Extreme Speed Mega Dragonite with Aerilate so it could rip through teams, but I feel it is too similar to Salamence.

Since we're all on the topic of anticipated megas, I'm on the train that thinks weaker Pokemon need them. Or less popular. Or even just those Pokemon that are good, but outclassed by something that does their job better. I'd love to see a mega chimecho, if only because of its design and I like sound/music Pokemon. I'm not sure how they could make it unique, though, it's kind of unfortunately a bland Pokemon. Mega butter free idea posted above by BlackButterfree would be really cool, I think psychic would be an obvious type change for it. Dark mega luxray is one I see often. Gen V desperately needs some megas. Chandelure's design would kick ass. I could see mienshao becoming something really cool. Sawsbuck could use a boost, I think. I know a certain user on this forum would kill for a mega golurk. The starters (especially serperior) could be really awesome. And maybe a mega leavanny could make it, idk, somewhat useful?

Oh, wow. It would be. Now Z has to be the title, even if Junichi used it in interviews.

What am I missing? What is the connection between Z and 26?

I like the idea of a Mega Feraligatr being Water/Dragon. It already looks like a dragon, has acces to a lot of Dragon moves (DD included) and with Charizard and Sceptile, it just makes sense pattern-wise.

Since we're all on the topic of anticipated megas, I'm on the train that thinks weaker Pokemon need them.

I think so too. If you would look at fully evolved Pokemon with a BST lower than 450, there are still a lot of cool Pokemon to chose from. For instance, my personal favourites within that list are: Ledian, Ariados, Azumarill and Mightyena.

Mega Feraligatr should be Water/Dragon with Water Veil imo. Water Veil is a pretty underused ability on the Pokemon that have it because most aren't dedicated physical attacker/sweepers. But when you're going to be using Dragon Dance or Swords Dance on Feraligatr being immune to burn is a huge deal. Especially when Water/Dragon would make it 4x resist Scald making it a very nice way of switching into that obnoxious move. Dragon STAB + immunity to burn would be one way to make Mega Feraligatr different over regular Sheer Force + Life Orb Gatr too, to avoid that trap of making a Mega that isn't as good as its regular self.

Since people are posting more about Megas, let me post a giant list some ideas I've had.

And yes, be warned, there's lots of type additions/changes! So if you don't like type changes then tough I guess :p Not gonna include movepool additions or the stat changes, cos that's going to far.. I'll make a blog for that one day. Probably. Maybe.

I tried to add the little party icons to make it less wall-of-text-y but sadly can only have 20 images per post and I've obviously got over 20 here lmao. So sorry if it's an eyesore!

Love this idea so much, and I would love to see all my gen V hating friends see their least favorite object pokemon get a mega that can sweep the competition

Garbodor is honestly is so good I think a lot of people a blinded by their hate for its design to not see its true potential...

And yes a thousand times to Water/Dragon Feraligatr, Grass/Fairy Meganium, and Fire/Ground! What a perfect way to give megas to the Johto starters!

I personally think they'd give up on a Mega Flygon design by now, especially considering its time to shine (ORAS) has basically passed. Not saying it couldn't happen because of course pokemon don't just get megas in their native region, but I feel it's something they can put away now if they really didn't finalize a design

Didn't stop the coming of Mega Beedrill and Mega Pidgeot from being shoehorn-- I mean debuting in ORAS when XY was pretty much the Kanto Variety hour.

with the number of people that want it (along with a Mega Milotic), i'd would be very surprised if they dropped it.

I dotn think GF will ignore the majority of the fandom's desire for Mega Flygon, especially after seeing the backlash the lack of Battle Frontier caused.

Dont forget Mega Slowbro *derpy 8D*

Feraligatr would be good with Water/Dark as its typing. Big Jaw as well, giving it some massive boosts to moves like Crunch and what not. Meanwhile Zeb's list reminds me how many Kanto Pokemon, and Johto, have innate Psychic abilities, its ridiculous.

If anyone cares, the Japanese twitter is advertising Pokenchi this Sunday. Its ambiguous if Masuda appears or not, but apparently it deals with the 20th. Not saying that anythimg is going down, but its rare to see such a thing from the company twitter itself.

And I'm sure there's plenty of people also wanting a Mega *insert personal view of what you want here*, but not everyone gets catered to, Flygon's time has passed imo. It would scream desperation for pleasing if they gave it to us AFTER ORAS, it would fall to the back of the line lol.

The only thing missing in XY was a water dolphin, and the games would have been Fanwank: The games. Its what bothers me the most, a lot of it felt like amends for otherwise poor games. I mean, look at this list of popular demands we got:
-The secondary starter trio
-A fire lion
-A rock/dragon Trex
-Something Poison/Dragon
-A really low Legendary Count
-Mega Evolution in some cases is the 4th stage
-Character Customization

They obviously said "fuck it" at one point and decided to throw in the kitchen sink, and then some. At least its out of their system I guess.

I think it's important to find a balance, which I think GF has found. They need to come up with their own new ideas, but they can't just ignore the fans. It'd be really hurtful if they just said "because you want a water dolphin we'll never give you one". Although some decisions of Game Freak do upset me, I find overall they get the balance about right between catering to fans and pursuing their own ambition.

EDIT: Also very interesting news from Serebii

First off the Australia Hoopa event will be starting and ending in January, which is much shorter than all other distributions. To me this suggests they clearly want it out of the way by February. (Possible game announcement?)

Finally the rules for some 2016 competition have been announced saying competitors may use any 2 of the box mascots in their teams, and Zygarde is listed as a box mascot and even displayed in the poster alongside Xerneas and Yveltal.
