FINALLY fwiw, I plan on publically claiming later this phase. Hopefully the game can truly start, with a D1 that isn't 90% pointless RVS.

I mean it kinda already started (you're all welcome btw) but you get the point. I was working on this breakdown for a while while at work! Blame the timing on that!

Personally, I rather doubt that scum!Elie would start out the game by causing cult paranoia, especially when he mentioned that he wouldn't be very active this week due to RL issues.

Spoiler: Reason as to my expected mediocrity for this week

My boss is out of town and I've been tasked to fill his shoes until he returns on Saturday, so since I spend most of my forum time at work, his increased workload falls into my lap and sucks up what time I have available.

You could literally talk about anything that anybody is talking about, including me being scum, people thinking I'm scum, people not thinking I'm scum, others reactions and interpretations. Even if you take me bringing up Cult out of the equation (which is fine, please do), there's people taking the game seriously other than myself (HD, ME, FA, Mido). Do those four ping you in any way? What about the others I mentioned, like DarthWolf, Eresh, and Iteru? What are people saying, or not saying? Comment on something.

If I remember correctly, in Sockpuppet Mafia Elieson was Mr. Saturn, and in that case Elieson actually got on me for my speculation about there possibly being a cult in that game. He said it was because looking for cults isn't looking for mafia. And for the record, Elieson was town in that game. With that in mind, I could see non-town!Elieson using cult speculation like that to his advantage, and it's weird to bring up anyway since in a game this size there are almost certainly indeps (hence the win-con) and probably masons/neighbors/etc to make use of the OC rule.

Also, I don't see any mention of this game being bastard in the rules, so that makes cult actually less likely to exist. Especially since Elementar's previous game - with a cult - specifically stated it was bastard.

oh wow... you thought this through much more than me... I actually remember that even though I didn't play the game.

@Elieson I don't think what I said against you was really concrete, but I thought it was worth a shot in voting you to put attention on you to make the game more lively and have more to go on. Didn't really expect it to escalate to two more serious votes but I'm happy with what I got out of it.

This. I don't think HumanDawn has been in every game I've been in, but it at least comes rather close to that.

I don't necessarily see the two as mutually exclusive. His role could imply some form of recruitment, and he asked us to check our wincons and the rules to show the possibility of indeps or non-Mafia OC.

Also, @Elieson is spreading nasty rumors again. I never take anything seriously. That's just not how I role.

Even though I earlier said that Elie could have too much information, I don't think non-town Elie would try attracting that much attention to it right away, so I'm not really liking how so many people jumped on him as if he was the easy choice. It was noteworthy how the people voting for him were all active/experienced (HD/FA/Mido), Mido was pretty sheepy and HD's point against her made sense. I know she defended but, maybe because of my own paranoia being always top-level around Mido, I don't feel pretty well about Mido don't worry tho I don't plan pushing lynches on her late d1 this time... not yet at least

Review your RolePMs and take a close look at them because they may have wording that when combined with the rules, hint at some stuff we can try to actually get a little bit of hostility info out in the open for precautionary purposes.

There were no votes or suspicion on him, or anyone, at the time.
There was no other "serious" content to work with.
There was no reason for scum!Elie to out something like that so early in the game with no provocation.

I'll wait for his full claim later this phase, but Elie is looking pretty good to me. I can't see any scum motives in his actions.

If you're scum you could indirectly try pointing people to their win condition and make them all think the it's shared about all threats needing to be removed as well so you try to put in subtle "I'm Town like you!" seeds into people's head. I don't think it was Elieson's plan, but it just felt like something really random. Hopefully the claim and what it has to do with the rules helps make his intentions more clear.

Yeah, I'm kinda confused about this as well. I guess because Elieson said that speculation on a cult isn't scummy, so it isn't weird for him to speculate or bring it up? Also I think FinalArcadia was town.

Personally I'm not giving much thought on Elieson's speculation - as in I don't find it suspicious. at least not for now. Btw are we allowed to bring up things relating to win conditions? (for example like in fates mafia: you win when all of hoshido and vallites are gone, kind of thing)

I'll have to take your word on it. I know he's still a bit wet behind the ears, but I don't remember Max being quite so fluffy in the past. I might just be missing things here. Still, you can't ignore that he's not really even responding to me, when I'm giving him fodder to work with. Max has quoted a bit of my post to respond to, but there's a lot more left that if he intends on keeping his nose out of, he should damn well clarify.

Further on this, I tend to harp on Mido because of our different playstyles, but this time, that post jumped out to me like a frog in a pond. Given the scenario and the ambiguity, I don't expect much today as far as a lynch on Mido. I'm not sure I buy the defense. Sleepy or not, I'm not even going to criticize the sheeptastic vote.

As a general rule, the more you contribute, even if it's just somewhat random thoughts, commenting on other people's stances, even saying that you agree with people's thoughts, the better of a read the townspeople will get on you.
If you are town, there is no reason not to try contributing something.

Choose a player. Quote their posts and comment on every little thing. That's the best way to start and it's better than just lurking.
