Generation 8 Rumours/Fakes/Leaks

I think that leak is fake. It's too close to the anime, and not even Pokemon Yellow is that close.

The anime is now closer than ever by giving away Ash-Greninja and the Pikachus sporting Ash's caps. The tradition vs. innovation rumor could be true and Plus and Minus could be the new Stars, both being utilized as code names yet have a connection to the actual releases.

All i am gonna say is this the game comes out in october and takes place in space.

Those were bonuses unconnected to the actual game. The former was exclusive to a demo and the latter was only created to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the anime last year.

But the point is that Ash-Greninja and those Pikachus are very straightforward anime figures while the Pikachu of Pokémon Yellow is more ambiguous since Red's main Pokémon in GS and its remakes is Pikachu. We also must not forget that Ash was served as an imperfect duplication of Red's in the beginning. Ash started being an independent entity in the AG series and that role separation is still ongoing (in fact, he has as good as no similarities left with Red). Something this straightforward never happened before. Also, I don't think the Ash-Pikachu hommage would have happened if it weren't for GF deciding to add Ash-Greninja.

The Ash-Pikachu homage was deliberately intended to celebrate the Anime's 20th Anniversary, which was last year. You'll have more of a case if Ash-Greninja and Ash Pikachu are obtainable in the actual game instead of a demo and an event distribution respectively.
Honestly, as unlikely as it sounds, it's actually fairly interesting and I wouldn't mind if it was true. The series needs to change, and why not go all the way? :3
I don't think Pokemon needs change on that level. It would barely even be recognizable as Pokemon anymore.

The method of obtaining is the least relevant aspect of this discussion. Not only that, but the fact that some Pokémon (especially Mythical Pokémon) are only obtainable via absurd ways is part of the Pokémon franchise's game identity. Does obtaining a Pokémon in the actual game make it have more foothold in terms of anime straightforwardness? I don't think so. Shaymin for example is only obtainable via Mystery Gift in DPPt, yet it did have an episode dedicated to itself and its form change in the D&P series. Anime straightforwardness is the main focus, not the method of obtaining or the intention.

Those mythicals weren't created for the anime. And, yes, it does.

Most mythicals have their own movie, which is an adaptation of the anime, so it makes them more special already. Also, most mythicals are featured in episodes and the episodes in which they take part are far more memorable than the average episode. The mythicals are actually way more relevant anime-wise than all other Pokémon excluding exceptions like starter Pokémon or a Gen's signature Pokémon like Lucario for Gen IV.

An account that's never posted before, somehow knowing the release date of a game before the game is even confirmed to exist? Sure....

Yeah....idk about that......I'd have to agree with 2 points made by the commenters. First I don't think they'd name 2 prominent characters the same. We already have an Alder and he lives in Unova. Second I'm not sure they'd directly reference a political problem as complicated as the UK and Ireland situation. Seems like that'd be a bit too on the nose and subject to problems for their PR. Not to mention insensitive to those involved

I think that this is fake. Pokemon will never be political on this level, as it can be seen as offensive and garner some bad PR for Game Freak. Also, they would never give two prominent characters the same name to avoid confusion, unless these two Alders are the same person, and I don't think that the Alder we know would ever become a Professor.

I don't think that there should be too much change. The battle system should remain the same. Changing it now will only alienate longtime fans and cause a decrease in sales.
Disagreed^ For a home console main game release, they should go all out with innovation. Not necessarily the battle system, mind you, but it needs some huge revamps. Change needs to occur.

To keep this post on topic :'D That's why I'd totally love if some of these "leaks" that feature huge changes would become true to some extent.
