If this is true, we can out basically every credible leaker and source so far lol But then again we are still in a situation where this doesnt help.

The "real leaks" leaker's only posts under that trip are the pikachu/eevee/go integration one, and today's "151 only" one + his replies to it

the separate leaker linked a bit ago said some really safe things imo, and the timing pretty much lines up to show that he/she was probably just paying close attention to rumors and piggybacking
 
Okay, just so I’m clear, are you saying the “only 151” guy wasn’t the one who got debunked but rather some other person? I’m a little confused.

I too agree with that. This will be a main series game for the switch. That is the only thing we know so far.

yes

the "only 151" guy is the same person who leaked the pikachu/eevee titles. The other person is the one that gets debunked by using that italian forum as evidence/proof

They're two different people, and the one I'm referring to just guessed a return to Kanto (as many others did) and said a bunch of other things that may or may not be true. It isn't based on real knowledge.
 
Would be awful for pokemon to remain on handheld, the series could never evolve. When features and add ons have to be scrapped because the current handheld cannot handle it, then you know you have a real problem.

Masuda: why are you giving us Dev kits for the switch, where's the dev kits for the 4ds?"

Nintendo: there is no 4ds switch is our only console now, take it or leave it.

Masuda: oh God 0_o

Gamefreak can't deliver if these rumors are anything to go off of
 
I think the problem is that they just keep trying to get back lapsed fans, who only seem to have played Gen 1. And it's either not working and they just keep trying to feature Gen 1 in a more prominent role each time. Or, it is working so they're just doubling down on it. Either way I still don't understand why they only seem to ever focus on Gen 1 so hard. Surely in this 20 plus something year long series there has to have been countless people who only ever played something like Ruby or Diamond and never touched the series again.

It's really just a personal gripe since I'm really not a fan of a lot of Gen 1. It just baffles me sometimes.
 
I was planning to wait before posting this "leak" from 4chan to see if and what news we get this Thrusday, but since people seem to be starving for any kind of positive information in the wake of recent rumors, I thought, "Why not".

I actually like these types of leaks; vague enough to mean anything or nothing at the same time. At least it has the decency to give itself an expiration date.

The thing I find the most interesting is the fifth point about New or Old Kanto and being able to "choose". I originally had a different interpretation, but what if these games have an option at the beginning of the game to have a "classic" mode where only the original 151 are available? New Kanto would have new Pokemon. Seems like a pointless feature unless there's more to the choice, but I could be underestimating the value of marketing towards genwunners.

If that’s the case, then it makes you wonder why they’d even be sequels. For all we know, the “sequel” stuff is the fake portion of the leak and these games are literally 1:1 Yellow remakes on the Switch. With the virtual console games existing and USUM being a disappointment, such an action doesn’t make sense from a marketing standpoint unless the gameplay is getting overhaul (which this guy does not seem to believe will happen).
