Not really, Generation 2 is more towards traditions, while 6 seems to be about fashion and flashy modern things.

In the UK, we normally call Vacations Holidays, even though we do call many celebrations like Christmas, Easter, Halloween Holidays as well. It would make sense if that Hawaiian shirt Pikachu is a Summer thing, but then, they would've called it Vacation Pikachu instead.

Right you are, especially the 'Summer Vacation' part, we call it Summer Holidays. There's also Bank Holidays we do.
