Pokémon Sword and Shield anime speculation thread

(obviously since she already is all over the fandom and the production staff will most likely pick up on that).
I'm pretty sure NSFW artists' effect on the anime's casting is pretty low. Anyways...

Nessa will be Iris 2.0 :wynaut:
Milo will be Cilan 2.0 :wynaut:
Then everyone will hate them. :bulbaFacepalm:

But if the anime were to follow it's typical pattern
There is no pattern.

I like the idea of a reserved Brock. Milo sure has a baby face, but he is a really muscular body. Would be a nice twist on the formula, where all kinds of women and girls are attracted to him, but he is to shy to even talk with them Good idea. I dig this. As for Nessa. Personally, she shouldn't be just a Misty 2.0. Some people didn't like Iris for that reason alone. They should just come up with a different personality for her if she will become a companion.

The anime so far only used two types of girls: Tsundere like Misty, and girly girls like... well the rest. Iris and to some agree Lana is something in-between. They could experiment a little bit more with girl characters. The worst case scenario for me if, if the new girl is just another copy of either Misty or May (or Dawn or Serena). That would be boring. We need new fresh ideas.

Imagine if the S&S anime is really, like some folks speculate, just another copy of X&Y and Ash get the female playable character as an ignored love interest and an innovator guy as his new companions. The Best Wishes anime and Iris and Cilan were also kinda just copied ideas from the OS and in the end, those two characters felt just like Misty 2.0 and Brock 2.0., and couldn't be as memorable as they could have.

Na, Sword and Shield kinda offer new things and I personally want new things. I do not want a third Misty, or a third Brock, I do second Serena, or a third May. I just want to have brand new things coming from the anime.

Watching a video on Serebii from a demo, when you Dynomax your Pokemon, the moves themselves become Max Moves which are like Z-Moves but can be used more than once. Can't wait to see this in the anime

I hope the next saga actually tries to give the female sidekick an interesting goal right from the beginning instead of wasting a year. Also, I don't mind if the male sidekick does nothing productive with his Pokemon since that's the norm most of the time anyway.

I sincerely hope that this does not happen. After getting a cast packed full of trial captains in SM, I'd like there to be less gym leaders (or in SM's case, trial captains) as part of the main cast. I am putting my money that Sonia will be one of Ash's traveling partners, assuming he doesn't decide to go to school in Galar (joke).

But if the anime were to follow it's typical pattern, Ash is due to get all three starters in this generation. So either we won't see the rival appear until way late in the series (I'm referring to Hop), or Ash will get just 1 or 2 of the starters. What I'm saying is there is a possibility based on the starter rotation that two of Ash's traveling companions could be gym leaders, but I think it'll be Sonia and one gym leader. I don't care for Milo, and in the traditional trio that Ash travels in, one companion is always male, and one is always female, so there is once again support for Milo. Or tradition can be broken and Nessa joins the traveling group. But if it's a going to be a gym leader, my money will be it'll be one we haven't met yet.

In the typical pokemon game cycle, 1-2 years after the release of new games in a generation, we either get a "third version" (or "remixed versions" like Ultra Sun / Ultra Moon) or remakes (like Heart Gold / Soul Silver or Omega Ruby / Alpha Sapphire). So I don't see this happening, granted I wish this was the route that GF / Nintendo would go with Pokemon games to keep some life in them as opposed to blasting us with stuff like USUM. While I'd like what you say to happen in some form, history just doesn't support this.

I don't even wish Ash well in the league. I hope they make him lose on the first round so we can move on.
I think that Sonia is too old to be a companion. She appears to be in her 20s, and I highly doubt they would have all of Ash's Galar companions be twice his age.

Other Gym Leaders haven't even been revealed yet, so we still have a wait for them.

I'm expecting a Robin Hood style Gym Leader who lives in the Sherwood Forest area. Perhaps something like Gardenia or any other Gym Leader.
I wish the elite four are
Robin hood: ghost or fighting or grass
Jim Moriarity/Sherlock Holmes: dark maybe he will replace or help Looker in the post story
King Arthur: dragon or steel if steel don't make it Wikstrom 2.0
Harry Potter: psychic we need pokemon Hogwarts

I imaging a strong scotsman for a Fighting Type Gym Leader.

Four male E4 members in one region? What a sausage fest. :bulbaFacepalm:

I think that the Sherwood Forest Gym is where Opal's gym is located.
[We don't know that yet. There is another leak someone had showed me that stated the same thing at the same time as the credible leak, but actually said that there is a Dark Type Gym.

I think the dark-type gym is the one near the icy mountains because
Milo's gym has green pillar-like things ->grass-type
Nessa's are blue-->water-type
Opal's (I guess) are black-->dark-type

An archer with Robin hood-vibe: ghost or fighting or grass
A smart detective based on Sherlock Holmes: dark maybe he/she will replace or help Looker in the post story
A cool knight like King Arthur: dragon or steel if steel don't make it Wikstrom 2.0
A wizard from pokemon Hogwarts: psychic we need pokemon Hogwarts

Do you prefer this list

Grass is already taken by Milo though. But as for pillars, I think I get the picture of which type is which...

Kilburn Gym (Grass Type)
Blackpool Gym (Water Type)
Manchester Gym (Fire Type)
Liverpool Gym (Dark Type)
Buxton Gym (Rock Type)
Sherwood Forest Gym (Fairy Type)
Birmingham Gym (Dragon Type)
London Gym (Fighting Type?)

But we only have seen 5 stadiums with that kind of pillars
the sherwood forest gym looks closer to a poison-type and the city with big ben is fighting/steel/fire-type, the one in the north is either fairy or electric type, the one in the middle is surely dragon-type

I'm like the only person here who thinks that Opal is a Fairy type leader.

20th October, SM143 will be the last episode of Sun and Moon before Sword and Shield starts. So when ''Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution'' starts, we would then have 14 episodes to go. Unless there are other breaks along the way?
