gonna say it's pretty likely that the email surveys were not even composed with any intention of gauging peoples' fury over Dexit anyway. it's just some basic data collection.

No one was expecting change in SwSh. At most maybe a patch, but not changes to the base game. They were never going to reverse course and all of a sudden say, “We’ve found some time, coders and budget to do the national dex over the summer. Thanks for your feedback, petitions and hashtags to make this happen! We intend to incorporate fan‘fury’ from social mediafeedback into future development.”
Still disappointed, but this is what these games are going to be and since it probably not affect sales all that much, unfortunately most likely future games too.

What we were hoping for is Game Freak to notice and understand our displeasure. They've noticed but they don't want to understand it.
just because it's not the answer you want doesn't mean they don't understand it.They've noticed but they don't want to understand it
not how that works.I'm open to the idea of Nintendo absorbing Pokemon, but I don't think TPCi would ever allow that
The reality is that casual players will still buy these games, along with people who aren't aware of the changes, and people who don't mind them (which is fine). I don't expect SwSh to have unusually low sales.

I would think that they do understand it - they're well aware of how people reacted to the transfer break in Gen 3, and they keep saying this was a difficult decision that they knew would come up eventually. It's not like they gain anything by sticking to this, other than the ability to keep producing their games at what they see as a preferable pace. I think they're clearly aware that it's going to displease people, and Home is their attempt at a band-aid to keep at least some of those people on board, but ultimately, if it's a choice between retaining a relative minority of players or slowing everything down and making sweeping changes to their entire production to deal with an ever-compounding issue, the decision is pretty simple.
What was the thing with Battlefront 2 and Anthem?
I was asking about what caused the controversy, since I don't know much about those games. Also, why do you mention the Wii U (again, sincere question)That is what we call 'sales collapse', and let us not assume that there are that many people considered 'hardcore' to have that sort of effect. If we did the Wii U ports wouldn't sell as much.
Because casual gamers don't play those games. =P They play Pokemon......I am sure that no casual fans were involved in the sales decline in the Star Wars, Fallout, Battlefield, Bioware in general....
76, Battlefield 5, SW Battlefront 2, Andromeda and Anthem by extension....i am sure I can find other examples to hit people like you with the 'stop being defeatist Archeopses' stick as needed.
The sweeping changes were made for XY, be it for the models (not a concern anymore), textures (just a matter of lightning now), animations or simultaneous localization. This required a lot of outsourcing, but the games were ready within 3 years. It is still very unclear what is so much harder this time around.making sweeping changes to their entire production routine

And yes, actually I am well aware that Game Freak does understand it. I'm tired right now and it's hard to articulate my thoughts. What I just mean is that the Pokemon games have been plagued by laziness, uninspired rehashes, and apparently poor programming. Then Game Freak tops it off by making an excuse they were cutting Pokemon for the sake of improved animations and graphics, which clearly isn't at all the case. I'd be fine with the culling if it weren't for that. Ideally, I would like this controversy to shake up the company so that they try a little more. Or at least pace themselves and not release two whole generations for one console. But heck, with cloud gaming on the rise, it might not even be long before consoles die too. But anyway it was those things that I ideally would like Game Freak to reconsider. I know that's not something they're going to openly admit, so I can only hope they've had that wake-up call.
Cause I've been burnt out since Sun and Moon at the very least. It's literally only because of this controversy that my interest in Pokemon has peaked again.
not that it would be impossible per se, but Pokemon would have a hard time having a sort of sales collapse simply because neither it's sales are heavily reliant on "dedicated" fans nor is there are sort of immediate alternative to Pokemon.
