This is the potential news date thread. We're here to discuss, I don't see what your post here is doing except trying to stir up a fight?

If that is true, then you have to make an exception to your post. And that exception is pointing out others aren't making a news-related post, is itself an exception to that rule.

My point wasn't "you're making a post that isn't abut a potential news date" but "you're trying to start a fight on the potential news dates thread for no reason" but I digress I guess. I don't want to stoke the fire any further.

Anyway, I'll get back on topic - does anyone think we'll get both new info on wednesday and worlds? or just wednesday?

I'm sorry you felt that way. But I didn't feel that way about myself.

What I felt myself was.

When someone makes this post X.

And someone else replies "you implied Y."

The person then has to say "I said X, but did not imply Y."

This happens often enough. Because Y is the news thread, then Y must be implied.

What would I have done?

I would have said "I don't know if you implied Y, but in case you did, Y is false."

But no, people instead make push-statements.

I think both this time. With something small, but noteworthy enough, at Worlds.

That said, I don't think the Pokemon Center is a potential news date so I don't... think I'll make note of it. Those have never had a history of having news.

I do think that we may see something at Worlds, though. We got the E3 Direct pretty shortly after the first Direct in June and while Japan Expo didn't have a pokemon reveal, we did get a trailer shortly afterward, so I think Worlds is definitely a good time period to keep an eye on. Plus we're getting later in the news cycle when I think that the news drops might start picking up pace, so we very well may see at least two trailers this month.

No, because they're just pop up locations, they're not meant to be permanent in the first place. The London store is going to be a temporary store too.

Just to promote the games of where it is based. Paris had a similar treatment, only opening months since X & Y's release. It wasn't very good from what I hear, poorly managed, over queued and limited stock. As mentioned in this video below...

This would probably fix the problems that the Paris one had, as it will have it's own merchandising to coincide Sword and Shield. If successful, then perhaps The Pokemon Company might consider opening a branch in London, like they've recently done in Singapore.
 
So anyway when does CoroCoro typically leak in August? Early, right? I know it’s usually recap stuff, but it did reveal some new Sun and Moon Pokémon. Though, with us getting a trailer Wednesday I feel like it’d be too soon for CoroCoro to then come in with even more new things.
 
I guess, on the topic of the London store and why it probably won't have any news for us related to the games (aside from Gen 8 starter plushies if you're hot for those) the store will only be open for about a month between October 18th and November 15th. So it closes the day Sword and Shield releases. With that in mind, it's not likely to have any merchandise for anything that hadn't already been revealed before the store opens and surely wouldn't contain spoilers for anything that would be found in the games after the store closes.

That said... I don't know, could add it to the list just in case, I suppose. I think we all know it's going to have nothing but we're at the point of adding rumors to the list anyway. I'm pretty meh on it being important, but on the flipside, it could also indicate about when that we could expect the starter evolutions to be revealed by, since it would theoretically have to be sometime before the store opens in order for them to sell merch of them. If they even do get merch of them that early... could all just be the first stage starters and the legendaries and that's it. Maybe Wooloo. It'd be an easy sell.

Yeah, it typically leaks as early as the 7th in August, as opposed to the 10th most other months. So we should see CoroCoro pop up around the same time as the next trailer.

...which ugh, I hate that timing because it does not feel coincidental. TPC will you let CoroCoro get something this year? Please?

Serebii already posted on his twitter only the front cover of the magazine is leaked, and front cover doesn't show any Sword/Shield stuff.
 
Corocoro will probably showcase more on Pokemon Masters and less on Pokemon Sword and Shield. Once Masters is out, then perhaps in September we will get more SwSh related stuff.

I don't know... have they reported on Masters at all yet? It would be weird for them to suddenly pick it up now, especially since the game is already on the verge of rolling out globally so there would be zero time for CoroCoro to even try to build up hype for it among their followers.

So far, Pokemon Sword and Shield have been mostly quiet with there being other things that were being heavily promoted at the same time, such as Detective Pikachu (May), Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution (July) and Pokemon Masters (August). They haven't shown us much like Sun and Moon have. Not even the Legendary's typing. Perhaps we'll get something in the next trailer on wednesday.
