Sobble has gotten development and will likely get even more in the future.

And my issue with Grookey going to Goh is mainly cuz the two positions it could fill were already filled by the other two:
''The strong evolved battler starter'' -> Cinderace
''The cute shoulder companion starter'' -> Sobble.

Did you forget about Charizard, Squirtle and Bulbasaur?

They're pretty obvious trying to make Goh parallel OS Ash's Team
 
Excellent. Now bring back Ash's Kanto starters for the Gary battle, and some other reserves in general.

As for Sobble, I don't remember Squirtle being enamored with its evolutions. Sobble has a decent chance of evolving unless it's another Axew, but I'd rather it stay unevolved because its personality is the only good thing I have to say about that line.

The best Series are the ones where all 3 Companions get Starters

AG and XY are the shining proof of that

Goh's Sobble has a personality?
 
The only starter of Ash I never expected to evolve was Turtwig, but even then, they made it interesting by learning off Paul’s Torterra. As soon as I saw Paul had a Torterra, I’d figure there was no way Ash was going to have one.
I think Sobble will evolve into Inteleon, but Grookey will stay the same throughout.

Grookey probably. Rillaboom isn't that marketable.
 
It really is such a shame, that this entire series is completely based off of marketing. Lucario Popular? Give to Ash a Riolu and quickly evolve it so we can shill! Dragonite Popular? Evolve it in a half-an episode and gave to Ash so we can promote consoom! Okay to need to show Galar Starters, just give them all to Goh and evolve Scorbunny within 50 Episodes! Like it's fine, I understand, this anime is a Shillnime, fine but at least give the Pokemon the time to f***ing develop instead evolving them right away. Who knows? 20 Episodes from now, Grookey might already be a f***ing Rilaboom.

The only Starter I was genuinely surprised to see Evolve was Lana's Popplio.
Mostly because it barely did anything and it took the Writers so damn long to finally do it. I thought it was gonna remained Unevolved like Rowlet.

In retrospect they probably only did it because Lana was the only cast member at that time who didn't have any Strong Pokemon

Well, the entire idea of the series’ characters was to show off the exclusive Z-Moves, which wouldn’t have been possible without obtaining Primarina, so I was expecting it.
