This series has left me with no room for optimism. She could easily be around for more than one episode.
Can you tone that down? I get pessimism and frustration, I feel that too, but you don’t have to preach against the series in every single thread about it.So glad Iwane isn't animating this battle, because this useless series doesn't deserve him. It also doesn't deserve Daiki Yamashita, Kana Hanazawa, Yuuchi Nakamura voicing characters. Such great talents wasted on a horrible series.
I mean if you feel that way then sure. I'll say nothing for a while then, I'll just like the posts that I feel send my point through. Can you tone that down? I get pessimism and frustration, I feel that too, but you don’t have to preach against the series in every single thread about it.
When you consider on sakugabooru, that literally about half (around 45-50%) of the sakuga clips from this series are animated by Iwane, shows complete degradation in Animation Quality compared to how it was in Sun & Moon (30-35% of clips from Iwane). This Series in terms of Animation has been a one-man show.
The preview doesnt look that good.Yup, that's the sad reality of this series in terms of animation. Ever since JN025 with the Korrina fight there hasn't been a single episode where OLM has employed a talented freelancer to cover up for those times Iwane isn't there to animate an important action segment. Their other inhouse animators are all mediocre.
Not sure why this would be - the absence of expensive freelancers times kind of well with Corona, but the pandemic should not have affected OLM/TVTOKYO's finances that negatively since people being home a lot means more anime is consumed and paid for.
...and as expected the battling in the preview looks like garbage with tons of stiff motions and zero shading. Ah well, I sincerely hope they're not wasting Iwane's next episode on some filler shit when he was badly needed for this one.
Also where the hell has Takeshi Maenami gone? People were hyping that man when he animated that scene in 1 2 3's First Version. He seems to have suddenly disappeared. I don't think we have seen Aito Ohashi ever since Sun & Moon ended either. No Yasushi Nishiya as well.Yup, that's the sad reality of this series in terms of animation. It sucks tbhAlso where the hell has Takeshi Maenami gone? People were hyping that man when he animated that scene in 1 2 3's First Version. He seems to have suddenly disappeared. I don't think we have seen Aito Ohashi ever since Sun & Moon ended either. No Yasushi Nishiya as well.
It seems like Ohashi animated a cut in the Click-bait Ho-oh Episode and that's all he has gotten this series. I am not sure if I am allowed to post sakugabooru links here so I won't but you can find it. Maenami has completely disappeared after his cut in 1 2 3's First Version. Nishiya did get a cut in Episode 2 but then that's it, he disappeared as well. Looks like all the good animators left after the first two episodes lol. I mean, they can still bring them back for big battles especially the Final Ash Vs Leon but the problem is they won't have experience in animating Dynamax/Gigantamax so it will be a shitshow. Also where the hell has Takeshi Maenami gone? I'm expecting at least one good scene in the episode since all of Yamazaki's JN episodes have had talented freelancers and the better in-house animators. Not sure why they didn't show it in the preview. Maybe it happens after Farfetch'd evolves(?), or maybe my expectations are too high. Not sure why this would be - the absence of expensive freelancers times kind of well with Corona, but the pandemic should not have affected OLM/TVTOKYO's finances that negatively since people being home a lot means more anime is consumed and paid for.

Maenami animated a few cuts in episodes 2, part of GMax Pikachu vs GMax Drednaw in episode 13, some cuts of Raboot dancing in episode 22, and Lucario vs Cinderace in OP3. Episodes 13 and 22 were both episodes with Yamazaki as the animation director. Sucks, wish they'd come back. I'd actually gladly watch a show that has bad writing but great animation without complaining.I'm expecting at least one good scene in the episode since all of Yamazaki's JN episodes have had talented freelancers and the better in-house animators. It just feels so... slow. Like it's not supposed to be a big deal, so the animation is not that fluid and the choreography is not that thought out. But like, it is a big deal. But I don't think this battle translates this energy that well.I also agree with @Enzo that this fight looks underwhelming as hell. Gallade feels soo weak and Farfetch'd looks like he's holding his own too well. I understand that Farfetch'd isn't a speed Pokemon so his fights will be slower, but Gallade's attacks feel like they don't have any impact. They shouldn't have brought back Rinto this early, Farfetch'd needed a bit more development for me to find this almost inevitable win believable.
It does when you’re doing a coprotagonist format and the focus is one sided. I still remember how Gou ate up screentime in the Korrina episode. That was harmful to the plot and the battle.Still doesn't make it a bad thing in and of itself.
I don't see Ash catching unevolved Pokémon.
Why not? This series has broken all traditions already. Ash already had plenty of late captures. A two stage Pokémon like Toxel would fit really wellUnlikely to happen this late into the series.
It really wasn't in my eyes. Goh didn't do anything for the entirety of Ash and Korrina's battle. It does when you’re doing a coprotagonist format and the focus is one sided. I still remember how Gou ate up screentime in the Korrina episode. That was harmful to the plot and the battle.
You can also be overpositive. It really wasn't in my eyes. Goh didn't do anything for the entirety of Ash and Korrina's battle.
They literally cut from the battle, and the Flabebe and Gurkinn segments were unnecessary time which could've been devoted to the battle. I'm not talking about the battle, I’m talking about the episode. It really wasn't in my eyes. Goh didn't do anything for the entirety of Ash and Korrina's battle.
I didn't see Gurkinn being reintroduced as a bad thing either. This just seems to me like people again thinking that Goh doing anything at all in an Ash-centric episode is a bad thing. Goh meeting Gurkinn helped to get new viewers more up to speed about things. They literally cut from the battle, and the Flabebe and Gurkinn segments were unnecessary time which could've been devoted to the battle. I acknowledge that you don’t find an issue with that, but let’s not use our personal opinions to just dismiss people who think differently.
