Simple Questions and Answers Thread for BST! (Read First Post)

Re: I swear I didn't know we had a *Simple Questions thread* for RMT! (Read First Pos

So what do you guys think? The "mischievous" turned out as thus:
Bulbasaur - #1 (Bold)
HP: 10 - 19
Att: 12 - 13
Def: 2 - 11
SpA: 31
SpD: 26 - 27
Speed: 10 - 19
Bold #1 Bulbasaur: 10 - 19 / 12 - 13 / 2 - 11 / 31 / 26 - 27 / 10 - 19

The "Good Endurance" turned out like so:
Bulbasaur - #1 (Bold)
HP: 27 - 28
Att: 14
Def: 28
SpA: 26 - 27
SpD: 15 - 19
Speed: 10 - 19
Bold #1 Bulbasaur: 27 - 28 / 14 / 28 / 26 - 27 / 15 - 19 / 10 - 19
-----

Of these 2 the "Good Endurance" would be my pick due to it's pros. But the drastically low margin of SPDef is a bit discouraging for me to use it at all. In the mean time I may go back to breeding more, but what do you guys think? Thanks, again.

Re: I swear I didn't know we had a *Simple Questions thread* for RMT! (Read First Pos

Keep the second one, keep breeding

Re: I swear I didn't know we had a *Simple Questions thread* for RMT! (Read First Pos

The most important thing for a Venusaur to have IV-wise is 31 HP. Since neither of those have 31 HP, then move on to the next IVs it needs most: Def and SpD. Then it's going to want SpA. Those are the only ones it needs good/decent IVs in. Personally, I'd go with the second one. It has acceptable Defense and SpA. But like DCM said, keep breeding.

Re: I swear I didn't know we had a *Simple Questions thread* for RMT! (Read First Pos

The Good Endurance one definately. The five to six IVS off of perfection in special attack isn't really going to hinder it as much as the bad hit-points and defenses.

Re: I swear I didn't know we had a *Simple Questions thread* for RMT! (Read First Pos

Okay, Sand Veil increases evasion by 20% during a Sandstorm.

Brightpowder increases evasion by 10%.

First of all, is a Pokemon's evasion the same thing as the foe's move's accuracy, or am I misunderstanding something? I'm a little confused.

Now, if Garchomp is holding Brightpowder during a Sandstorm, will a foe's move that normally has 100% accuracy only have 70% accuracy?

I recall hearing that its evasion would only increase by 28% because 100% - 20% = 80%, and 10% of 80 is 8, and 20 + 8 = 28. Thus the move would have 72% accuracy.

And what if a foe's move only has 70% accuracy? Will it be lowered to 40%, or 45%?

I don't think I understand exactly exactly how this mechanic works, so any explanation would be appriciated.

Re: I swear I didn't know we had a *Simple Questions thread* for RMT! (Read First Pos

I've used a BrightPowder Garchomp before, and know for a fact that it boosts Garchomp's evasiveness to 28%. That does bring an opponent's 100% accurate move down to 72% accuracy. I'm not sure about any other move. And a Pokémon's evasion stat is not the same as an opponent's move's accuracy.

Re: I swear I didn't know we had a *Simple Questions thread* for RMT! (Read First Pos

what are the best natures for the following :
dragonite
milotic
lucario
snorlax
latias
blissey

Re: I swear I didn't know we had a *Simple Questions thread* for RMT! (Read First Pos

It depends. What set do you want on them?

Latias is usually going to be Timid. It can also be Modest or Calm, but Timid is generally best for it. Blissey can be either Calm or Bold. Snorlax is usually Careful or Sassy, but can also be Adamant. Lucario can be Adamant, Modest, Jolly, Timid, Mild, Rash, Hasty, or Naive... depending on the moveset. Milotic can be Bold, Calm, Timid, or Modest. Dragonite can be anything that's listed for Lucario.

That's why you need to list the movesets you have on them.

Re: I swear I didn't know we had a *Simple Questions thread* for RMT! (Read First Pos

dragonite - thunder punch , fire punch , dragon dance , outrage
Milotic - surf , ice beam , rest , sleep talk
Snorlax - rest , yawn , zen headbutt , focus punch ( I need an opinion on this moveset)
Latias - surf , thunder , shadow ball , ice beam

I haven't got the blissey yet

EDIT : also does the FEAR thing actually work in battle tower ?

Okay. Dragonite can be either Adamant or Jolly, depending on whether you want more power or more speed. Milotic can be Modest if you want more power, or Calm if you want more staying ability. Latias... is that set for OU? If it's for Uber, just scrap it. If it's for OU, Thunderbolt over Thunder (Unless it's on a Rain team), Dragon Pulse over Ice Beam (Good for STAB), and Grass Knot over Surf. Obviously if it's in OU it can't have a Soul Dew. Best nature for that set is Timid.

For Snorlax... that's kinda not a good set for it. Personally, I wouldn't use Rest unless I had either Sleep Talk or Curse on it. Curse gives it more staying ability, and Sleep Talk lets it use attacks while its asleep. Also, Zen Headbutt/Focus Punch should be replaced. Use a Normal-type move for STAB (Return or Body Slam- Return has more power but Body Slam is good for the paralysis) and then something to hit Ghost-types (Shadow Claw or Crunch, with Crunch probably being your best bet). So, you could use Rest/Sleep Talk/Return-Body Slam/Crunch, or Rest/Curse/Return-Body Slam/Crunch.

Re: I swear I didn't know we had a *Simple Questions thread* for RMT! (Read First Pos

thanks ^_^ My milotic already has a modest nature :)
I'll need to evolve my adament dragonair since my dragonites are both mild (but the cherish ball looks cool)
My snorlax is Lonely so I'll have to breed it :\
Getting a timid latias will be a problem since I cant simply soft reset for one , my current Latias's natures are Bashful , Naughty , Rash and Careful.
These sets are for battle tower mostly....

Re: I swear I didn't know we had a *Simple Questions thread* for RMT! (Read First Pos

Ah, Battle Tower, okay. In that case, the Rash Latias should be fine. You could put Earthquake on it to take care of Magnezone (This is D/P Battle Tower right?).

Good luck!

Re: I swear I didn't know we had a *Simple Questions thread* for RMT! (Read First Pos

Yes its D/P battle tower , where palmer can be beaten by a level 1 starly by itself
Thankfully my rash latias is UT so I can ev it how I want.

EDIT: Whats a good moveset for a pressure absol with a jolly nature 252atk/252sp/4hp evs ?

Whats a good moveset for a pressure absol with a jolly nature 252atk/252sp/4hp evs ?

Night Slash, Psycho Cut, and Slash are good moves for a Super Luck Absol holding the Scope Lens (high critical hit ratio), but I don't really know about a Pressure Absol...

Re: I swear I didn't know we had a *Simple Questions thread* for RMT! (Read First Pos

Well, Absol's defenses suck so Pressure really isn't a good nature for it in the first place when it has Super Luck and a way to take advantage of it. However, if you aren't willing to breed for Super Luck, you can use either Substitute or Protect to help Pressurestall. If you use Substitute, you can run something like...

Absol @ Salac Berry
Jolly
~Substitute
~Swords Dance
~Sucker Punch
~Superpower (Platinum tutor)- X-Scissor

Substitute on something slower or on a switch, Swords Dance when possible, and proceed to sweep.

Re: I swear I didn't know we had a *Simple Questions thread* for RMT! (Read First Pos

Only reason I don't want to use a super luck absol is because even with the 50/50 chance of a critical hit it would bever happen in battle tower.

EDIT : okay another moveset opinion needed.
Ninetales
-hypnosis
-energy ball
-flamethrower
-extrasensory
I also need a good nature , held item and ev spread :D sorry about all the questions =\

EDIT2: Another question : If a scizor with technician ability gas bug bite (base power 60) what will its base power become with STAB and technician ?

Re: I swear I didn't know we had a *Simple Questions thread* for RMT! (Read First Pos

The only thing I'd change about Ninetales is Extrasensory being changed to Dark Pulse.

You'll never see a Scizor with Bug Bite. It doesn't learn it. It DOES get Silver Wind, although you'll never see a Scizor with it unless it's a joke. That would get a base power of 135, counting Technician and STAB.

Re: I swear I didn't know we had a *Simple Questions thread* for RMT! (Read First Pos

Okay another question
Does this smeargle moveset work in battle tower
Hypnosis
substitute
lock on
Sheer Cold

Sorry about the double post

Re: I swear I didn't know we had a *Simple Questions thread* for RMT! (Read First Pos

I don't see why not, but if you're going to use Hypnosis, you're better off with Spore (100% accuracy).

Re: I swear I didn't know we had a *Simple Questions thread* for RMT! (Read First Pos

Spore has 100% accuracy o_O I didnt know that....
