SV Leaks and/or Rumours Thread

Does seem to be a good funnel to find them through, but I can't say that I like the community there much. I post there only because I don't have much of anything else going on. In terms of a community that actually thinks things through and analyzes leaks well, Bulbagarden's #1. And that's not favoritism talking. XD
Oh yes, we definitely have the better analysis-skills here.

EDIT: Look at me acting all high and mighty about this place XD

Pokedex leaks are the most dangerous leaks because literally the next trailer will probably disprove it unless your real lucky. Atleast things with final starters it would still take a decent number of trailers to be proven false.

Nowadays starter evolutions don't even get revealed before release.

I blame that on the fact that the Alolan Starters got leaked so early in advance

If not for that, GF probably wouldn't have such a problem revealing the Starter evolutions before the game actually comes out

No, that's not the fault of the Alolan starters. X and Y didn't reveal its starters' final evos until release day either, and the middle evos were only revealed the month before.

It actually wouldn't make sense for them to withhold them in response to them getting leaked, because the only way they could have avoided the Alolan starter leak via timing would have been to get ahead of it and reveal them sooner. Waiting actually puts them more at risk of them being leaked rather than less.

I think them not even showing the middle evos for Sword and Shield was actually the fault of Sun and Moon's overload of official reveals, nothing to do with the leaked reference pages.

When it comes to “gimmicks”, was looking through some old leaks and there were definitely some interesting ideas. Actually it’s funny that triple types have been mentioned a lot recently since a few fake gimmicks in the past have also mentioned 3 types.

Teamwork Moves: Up to 3 Pokémon on your team can use a teamwork move. These moves can be used once per battle. Gyms specialize in team work moves and on defeat they teach you their strategy. The first Gym teaches you Team Attack where up to 3 moves can be used all at once with the power stacking. The second Gym teaches Team Guard which blocks an attack completely if using 3, reducing damage if using 2. The legendaries have their one special Team Attack’s and Guards.

Spirit Armor: Special items that can be attached to one Pokémon at a time, in addition to any held items. One example is a fiery necklace that changes the type of attacks to Fire type. Some items may be converted into Spirit Armor for example Never-Melt Ice will add an extra 10% chance to freeze an opponent. Some Pokémon have exclusive Spirit Armor like Mewtwo and the Starters which changes their type.

Elemental Armor: One for each type. One Pokémon per battle can “armor set” protecting that turn and becoming a specific type defensively but retaining the STAB from their natural type. They are a bit slower but some have special abilities for example Fire Armor burns on contact. Each Pokémon receives a colour aura based on the armor type. Some Pokémon have unique armor looks like Rapidash having horse armor but it looks the same for each type, just with a different colour aura.

Anysyphus: (Technically a recent leak but was interesting so wanted to include it) A wisp like Pokémon that can inhabit other Pokémon for 3 turns feasting them a 3rd type and a special move where they attack along with the Pokémon. Most Pokémon get a coloured aura but some change appearance like a Pikachu with red fur/spilt hair and an Arcanine with clouds underneath it.

Super Stones: Permanently evolves a Pokémon’s type and giving it 4 new moves. Only certain Pokémon can evolve into these “Super Pokémon” like a Fairy Pikachu, Dragon Lapras, Flying Ho-Oh, Fighting Snorlax, etc.

Super Stones 2 (Claimed the first was a mistranslation): When used certain Pokémon temporarily have 3 types and 3 secret moves replacing their normal 4, one for each type. They are surrounded by an aura that changes colour based on the type used. Examples such as Electric/Fairy/Dark Pikachu, Water/Ice/Dragon Lapras, etc.

Fusion: Temporary and in battle, a handful of Pokémon can fuse but only if they have the same 7 letter “gene code” which is assigned based on certain traits.

Synchronize: When using a certain Z-Move your starter merges with you.

Z Forms: Similar to Mega Evolution but if the Pokémon faints the player loses because of their connection to the player.

Ultra Burst: Like Mega Evolutions but they faint after 5 turns because of how powerful they are. The Pokémon uses their Z Move on Ultra Evolve but a Z-Crystal is required and they have to have max hearts in refresh.
Nooooo you're gonna evoke the fusion and armor crazies tooooo D8

The overall concept of teamwork moves reminds me of Techs in Chrono Trigger!! :) :)

There are eventually two additional types of possible moves to choose from depending on which ones are learned and who is in the active party. Something similar in Pokemon would have to be anywhere near as complex!!

Bring back Shadow Pokemon as this gen's gimmick I say
Now that I could get behind- if they bring back Shadow Lugia too.

Having Shadow Pokemon in GO is cool and all but they're kind of boring and they had the audacity to release two forms of Shadow Lugia and neither of them were THE Shadow Lugia. >=( Game Freak needs to get ownership of it so we can get it back.

Well, the leaker Uncle hinted at it, and its one of the few Kanto Pokemon that hasn't been revisited.
I don't get why people are trusting that Google doc so much.

I fear it's not going away either. It piggy backs so hard off the Masters image that Khu posted that it's probably going to get something right and then held up to be true even if it gets everything else wrong.

It's perfectly vague enough about the type gimmick too.

Ultimately, I think it's a bad leak that's just going to get people's hopes up because of it promising a lot of new pokemon; something that was speculated because of the 151 in Khu's image, but has since been stated to not be part of the leak.

The doc itself says "not to trust itself", which is weird. Also, don't the codenames have no connection to the game itself, but the doc is saying that "Titan" does have a connection???
Pretty sure it's just pointing out that the regirock represents the codename. They probably didn't have anything else to shove into their leak to make it sound credible so they just went with information that we already knew.

Same tactic Eclipse uses to convince gullible people that he knows anything.

i mean, there isn't a single generation where i haven't loved at least one starter. gen 5's are my absolute favorites, especially the tepig line. gen 1 i only liked bulbasaur, gen 2 i love all three, gen 3 i've used all 3 and my favorite is mudkip, gen 4 is my second least favorite but i love turtwig, gen 6 starters were absolutely TERRIBLE but i hated chespin the least, gen 7 i love them all and gen 8 i like them all about the same

it's very hard for me to hate a pokemon design. i love every pokemon even the ones i think look stupid

I wish this was real. XD It's such a good design. And good artwork, too.

Funny enough this was posted before Rowlet was even revealed. Some speculate it may have been a beta /rough design of Rowlet because of the similar coloration.
I have trouble believing that, especially because its style is similar to the Clown-Sealion.

Bring back Shadow Pokemon as this gen's gimmick I say
i understand this is probably a joke but shadow pokemon in the colo/XD days was an underrated as hell concept that i think could've worked in an interesting way if it was recycled in current games

oh well
