Again, this is why I don't bother with "right" and "left" as political terms. Can't we, you know, just get down to the issues, instead of dickering about how far down an arbitrary and meaningless line I've placed myself?

We have some pretty bad politicians. Where are the statesmen when you need them....

I don't really like those labels. I'm partial to the Washington ideals of no political parties, but I guess you could call me libertarian for short. It's not really a left-right thing for me though, mostly because they'll find me on both sides of the aisle frequently enough. (Though I'd have to say that in terms of personality, I'm more partial to rightists than leftists.)

It disgusts me. The manuverings of politicians and the low moral standards involved are just appalling. How is it that so many politicians have sex scandals, and so many are willing to spend money on projects as ridiculous as Ham?

Now, I make a distinction between 'governing' and 'politicking'. The first is just the rule of law, but the second is every disgusting aspect of the process. I only follow the latter because it greatly affects the first, which affects all of us in a meaningful way.

It's for my own benefit. I like business, but politics disgusts me.
