Well as I said before the idea itself is cool and I'm glad that you've got the plot planned out. What I would suggest is to kind of work a bit more on the characters, I like Alistair's personality from what you listed but the girl might end up becoming cliche depending on how you pullit off, Umbra himself sounds kind of like your typical villain but then again this is still in planning plus I can't say anything until I actually get to read it xD

I think it sounds like a unique idea actually, no one's done Orre in this way....considering Orre is related to Colloseum maybe you should make it so that a couple of the badges can be obtained through winning small colosseum tournaments.
