  • I agree and I disagree. Certainly, those who want Satoshi/Pikachu/TRio replaced need their brains transplanted because it would almost certainly kill the anime to remove such iconic characters.

Before Kasumi was shamelessly :p replaced I would have said the same of Kasumi/Takeshi, but the show has continued for so many years now without either. I don't know - a lot of the freshness and enjoyment from AG/DP/XY has been facilitated by the different quirks/skillsets/dreams of the companions. Either way, I still feel that old characters should not be forgotten. I don't care whether it is in the main anime or specials like the old Hosos (I can't believe that they weren't popular enough to continue!), I want to see how my old faves are doing!!
Good I'm glad to hear that :)

Um aside from TRio I my fave main characters are Satoshi/Pikachu, Kasumi and Citron/Eureka (also really like Takeshi and Haruka). I also have a lot of faves from the rivals including Shigeru, Shinji, Jun and Harley! If I start telling which pokemon I like the list won't ever end :p
Yeah, I was going to use a PM to respond to both of your visitor messages, including the one from last month, since I didn't think I'd have enough room if I went for another visitor message.
Sorry to make you worry and take so long to respond. I've been busy dealing with other matters and I also just keep forgetting to respond back. I'll send you a PM hopefully within the next few days.
That's true. I've always been interested in art and culture, more than most people my age it feels like. I don't have a lot of work experience so working at a big organisation like this allows me to, which is really great.

    Thank you very much.
I work at a pretty big and modern museum. It has exhibitions on the province where I live in my country (this province is culturally rather unique). I work at the Communications & Marketing department, which is also what I study.
That's okay :) I want to thank you for being so patient and understanding. Not everyone is like that. The reason I'm so busy no is that I just started an internship. And my weekends are filled with stuff I don't have time fore during the week.

    You're welcome :)
Hi! I had seen your message but completely forgot to respond. Real life is currently asking a lot from me. I'll look at your message, but it won't be until later today. If you want a quicker response, you could also contact another Anime mod.
Don't worry about it. We may have different viewpoints but as long as we respect one another there's no harm in it.

Sorry for the late reply. There are weeks I'm always lurking around and there are some others I barely visit this place. I'm currently catching up to the sixth season of Pretty Little Liars and since there was no new Pokémon episode last week I've been absent here.
    Continuing...

I see former traveling companions in a similar way to Ash's Pokémon at Oak's Laboratory. When Ash enters a League, there are always those fans that want to see Charizard for the umpteenth time. Charizard has starred in so many battles, he has so many appearances, I don't need to see him stealing the spotlight again. Ash has caught Pokémon in the Kalos region too, why should Frogadier be used in a three-on-three battle against a CotD at the start of the competition while Charizard stars the Full Battle against an important character in the later rounds? Charizard is done. He had his time to shine. Now it's time for the newer Pokémon.

To make things clear, it's not that I think former cast members should be completely ignored. I would love to see them appearing in some side-story episodes. It's just that I don't want Misty coming back and becoming Siebold's apprentice when Serena just discovered her goal. Serena still has a long way to go, it isn't fair to her to share screentime with a character that has 250+ episodes to her credit. Her story shouldn't be shortened just so we can get Misty back in the cast. And again, the writers have trouble enough with four characters to deal with, five would just make things worse.
Misty traveled with Ash for the duration of the original series, the longest anime series to date with more than 250 episodes. She had plenty of time to enter tournaments, train her Pokémon, and practice with Water-type specialists but she was barely seen doing these kind of things. What makes you think this is going to change if she reappears for, I don't know, 10 episodes? Her story arc is finished, the writers aren't going to develop her when they have a shining new cast to be concerned with. Like I said, the writers have a hard time handling Ash, Serena, Clemont, and Bonnie already. Bringing in Misty is not going to makes things easier for them.

We don't know what will happen after Ash is done with the Kalos League. Right now we don't even know when Ash will be done with the Kalos League. During the Diamond & Pearl series, there was a one-year gap between Ash's seventh and eight Gym Badge. How do we know something like this will not happen again? But even if Ash ends up winning his two last Badges and competing in the Kalos region's Pokémon League Conference this year, that does not mean the writers will be any more inclined to bring Misty back, because like I said, they have to develop the newer characters.
I don't think the writers have abandoned the older characters. Misty and Brock were referenced a number of times in the Best Wishes series and, in The Dream Continues!, Ash remembered all of the characters that traveled with him. They haven't forgotten Ash's old friends, it's just that they don't want to bring back these characters.

I know you feel that Misty's story isn't finished yet but the writers aren't going to bring her back and expand her goal because they have to do this for the current characters. Poor Serena doesn't receive focus enough. What I'm saying is that the writers have problems handling the current cast, they will not makes things more complicated by bringing back past characters.

But yeah, it's a sad thing. The characters should get to appear in some side story episodes at least. I wish they would pull a Pokémon Chronicles Season 2 or something to feature Ash's former traveling companions. I miss Dawn and Piplup.
The activities you mentioned must be really fun. I've seen kids making snow angels, snowball fighting, and building snowmen in a number of films and it always looks like a lot of fun.

It is fulfilling indeed. I totally agree with you about working with something that makes you happy. You can't dedicate yourself fully towards something unless you really likes it.

I think with Pokémon it's a different story. Dragon Ball, for instance, doesn't airs one episode each week since its debut. Excluding the Porygon incident era and the breaks we have here and there due to hour-long specials, that's what Pokémon has been doing for years. These franchises are pandering to older fans, they're using nostalgia to get high audience rates in a new season or movie. I agree that Pokémon shouldn't ignore older characters completely though.
Snow precipitation is a thing I don't have to worry about because it only occurs in the southern states. I live in southeastern Brazil so I've never seen snow. XD~ I really like the weather of the state I live in as I'm not a big fan of low temperatures. I rarely go to the beach though. When I was a kid I would annoy my parents till they decided to take me to the beach but nowadays that I can go all by myself I don't go there as often as I used to.

Oh man that sucks, hope you find something soon. I'm currently studying business administration and I'm planning on specializing in human resources management. I haven't made my mind yet though, I like marketing as well and thankfully I still got some time to decide.
