The (apparent) youngest of the Asian nations, he often claims responsibility for others' work and shows his affection for his family in bizarre ways, the targets often being either China or Japan. He is free-spirited and wild, and it is rare to see him in a serious sort of mood.
He is obsessed with video games, internet, dramas and also studying abroad. He often uses phrases like "Da-ze" or "Uri nara Mansae" which roughly means "Hooray for our Land". However, when he was speaking with the elders, he tends to speak more formal and polite.

One of the most egregious examples of Did Not Do The Research, and the most controversial, is the pronouncement in the manga's great depression strip that one of the reasons for the struggles of the Axis powers was the lack of colonies. Anyone who has read anything of the war in the Pacific knows that this was very much not the case for Japan. Koreans in particular were not amused.Not sure which part they were the most offended about.

The TV broadcast of Axis Powers Hetalia was canceled due to a few very vocal South Korean busybodies taking umbrage at the portrayal of their country and characterizing it as a right-wing political tract; thanks to Misplaced Nationalism, this has led to some truly nasty anti-Korean backlash from some fans. Korea wasn't scheduled to show up in the anime anyway!

Guess that explains it.
Well all of the series I give you definitely fit in the second category. xD And for comedy, there's a few series that fit that one too, though the Ghost Stories dub is somewhat akin to South Park in terms of its humor, fair warning.
Hetalia I think it would be better if I could watch the dub of it, but yesh yesh yesh @ Digimon and Ouran~
Soul Eater I've seen the first few episodes for, love the OPs. It's not bad, likable cast, but I have yet to find the drive to finish it. xD;
Hmm, I really like Cowboy Bebop, Gankutsuou and Wolf's Rain, though I've not sure which genres you favor. I'll PM you a list of the stuff I've seen.
