A helpful hint that everyone's probably figured out by now

If you're looking for a Honey Tree pokemon of a specific gender (ie, the elusive Female Combee), save in front of the tree. If it's the pokemon you want but not the right gender, turn it off and try again. The species that's in the tree will stay the same, but the gender may change. That's how I've caught three female Combees.
