The plane was flying from Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso to Algiers when contact was lost.
The plane had 110 passengers and 6 crew on board.
Contact was lost about 50 minutes after take-off.
Crew were asked to detour due to poor visibility and to prevent a collision with another aircraft.
The plane was supposed to land at 5.10 a.m. (GMT) but never reached its destination
