Wasn't sure where to ask this, so, here we are.

Really, the question is, can I cheat the block upgrading system?
 
prolly could have gone in the simple questions, but anyways...

I don't think so. You can't cheat the Bug Catching Contest, Pokéthlon item buy-ability, and various other things by merely changing the date on the DS.
