Hey everyone!

We have another mini-event from Niantic in celebration of Pokémon Day. This will last from February 26th, 2:00 PM PST to February 28th at 1:00 PM. Here’s what’s going on during the event.
  • Party Ηat Pikachu that know Present will be available in the wild (like the Santa Hat Pikachu this past holiday). These Pikachu give 300 Stardust when caught, and can be Shiny.
  • Trainer items from Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen are available in the shop. They are:
    • LeafGreen Hat: 150 Coins
    • LeafGreen Top: 200 Coins
    • LeafGreen Bag: 200 Coins
    • LeafGreen Wristbands: 50 Coins
    • LeafGreen Skirt: 200 Coins
    • LeafGreen Shoes: 200 Coins
    • FireRed Hat: 100 Coins
    • FireRed Top: 250 Coins
    • FireRed Backpack: 250 Coins
    • FireRed Wristbands: 50 Coins
    • FireRed Pants: 200 Coins
    • FireRed Shoes: 150 Coins

If you want the whole set, it will be 1000 Coins in total for both genders!

Good luck to all! :)

Nice little event. Makes the Party Hat Pikachu first introduced last year available again, which is nice as I did not get the chance to catch any last year. It also introduces its Shiny form.
At the same time it follows the trend of mini-events focused on specific Pokemon that award 300 Stardust per catch, which started with Luvdisc (Valentine's Day) and followed with the canine Pokemon (Lunar New Year).

What makes this event particularly nice is that it solely incentivizes catching the Pikachu, unlike most recent events featuring it which had some other focus:
  • In the Halloween event, there were Gen III Ghost Pokemon and double Candy that were more worth focusing on than catching Pikachu.
  • In the Holiday event, there were new Gen III Water/Ice Pokemon and 6-hour-Lures, whch were also more worth it than catching Pikachu.
  • In the first Community Day, there was double XP, so making the most use of Lucky Eggs was more important than catching Pikachu.
But this time, the event's only about catching Pikachu, and there's a neat triple Stardust bonus on them too.

As for my goals for this event:
>Catch at least 3 Party Hat Pikachu; one regular, one Raichu, one saved for Alolan Raichu.
If I could also hatch a Pichu or get a 100% IV/Shiny, it'd sure be cool, too.
>Make some good progress on the Pikachu Fan medal. This is the chance.
