Generation IV Remake Speculation

Will there be remakes in Gen VIII?

Also, if you just have to fill it up to Palkia from the Diamond and Pearl Pokédex, that would mean evolutions like Electivire and Rhyperior would be missed. I want all the Platinum Pokémon to be required. And Platinum even had you look for a picture of Manaphy, the Mythical Pokémon that was optional in Diamond and Pearl's Pokédex.

I'm hoping the new Sinnoh Dex will have an overhauled numbering system (something a bit like this one I made), with every Gen 4 Pokemon included, and all the legendaries together at the end. So the requirement could be to see all the non-legendary Pokemon in the Sinnoh Dex, plus the Lake Guardians, Dialga and Palkia. All the other legendaries after Palkia could be optional.

However, if you wanted to give players the chance to register "seen" entries for all the legendaries and mythicals, perhaps there could be a little quest where you go around Sinnoh searching for them in books. There could be a book in Celestic Town, one in Mr Backlot's Mansion, a few in the Canalave Library, and one in a house in Eterna City maybe. That would be fun. Although could it take away some of the mystery from your eventual real-life encounters from those Pokemon?

I've often wished that there was a way to record "seen" entries for mythical Pokemon, even if you can't actually catch them. So I'd love to see something like this, even if I think it probably isn't very likely to happen.

Considering a recent spoiler in the new opening for the anime I'm starting to suspect whatever main series game is coming out next November might not necessarily be Gen 4.

I'm just putting it out there as a possibility. No pitchforks, please. I know you want to see the Sinnoh region, again.

I don't see how a gen 5 character returning for a few episodes in the anime means that we will not see gen 4 remakes. Isn't Journeys billed as an adventure around the world? And several old, non-Sinnoh characters have already made appearances, no? It makes sense that characters from all the different regions would appear. I highly doubt the return of a Unova character in an all-regions show that has already seen the return of other non-Sinnoh characters is indicative of no gen 4 remakes. I can't see what kind of game Iris is hinting at because I doubt GameFreak will jump straight to gen 5 remakes and an all-regions game is never happening.
 
Iris deconfirming Sinnoh? No. Korrina from Kalos already appeared in Journeys. Also, Sinnoh has appeared in a few episodes of Journeys so the chances of a new Sinnoh game is just fine.
 
I mean, we've used this train of logic before.

Of course, I've always been opposed to that line of reasoning so.... yeah.
 
Take it for what you will but Centro Leaks just said point-blank that a source of their's has told them there will be DP remakes this year, to be revealed in a February Direct (and also mentions that they are working on a show called "Legends")

Personally, I'm fairly inclined to believe it after their Crown Tundra leaks, but we shouldn't take it as hard confirmation.

AKA taking this confirmation with a grain of salt. I would love to be proven wrong on the announcement of the remakes not happening in February.

(Btw, you get the same 403 when looking up legends.pokemon.com which corresponds to the "show" that Centro mentioned on their website, which I'm gonna assume is the next iteration of the Origins/Generations/Twilight Wings animated anthology format)
