Crocheted Pokémon display in Gillingham, England
The host of a Pokémon-themed Easter scavenger hunt, Unravel and Unwind CIC, have posted an appeal on their Facebook page for the return of six crocheted Pokémon decorations. The nonprofit yarn shop had originally placed 46 Pokémon decorations made by volunteer artisans around the Gillingham community for children and families to find. However, sometime over the holiday weekend, a post box topper featuring Wobbuffet, Lefeaon, Voltorb, Snom, Mew, and Oddish was “selfishly” removed from its place near St. Mark’s Church in Gillingham. “[T]here will now be lots of disappointment for children and families who love Pokémon, in addition to the makers of the six Pokémon that were part of this topper…” said Unravel and Unwind CIC.

Each Pokémon on the display as well as their Premier Ball base took around six hours to complete, as each is crocheted by hand. “A lot of time and energy and personal funding went in to creating this fun Easter trail for all to enjoy,” said the shop. There are 40 Pokémon still on display on the free scavenger hunt, which families are still invited to participate in. The trail will stay up until April 30th, at which point winners will be drawn for prizes donated by The Salvation Army Gillingham and Cataclysm Games UK.

Kaden Brown, a retail assistant at the shop said, “It is absolutely disappointing. It is quite sad but we are hoping that someone will have seen it and know where it is.” Unravel and Unwind CIC requests the decoration be returned to its original place or to their shop so participants can once again find all 46 Pokémon on the trail.
