Higurashi

This still remains among my all time favorite anime. I'll never forget the ride the first series took me on the first time I watched it! I credit Higurashi as the catalyst to my interest in psychological anime. My favorite character was always Rena; I even made a sig of her once upon a time:

Same for me, and then it spread over to Umineko and Corpse Party. :D

All the chapters have their moments, but my favorite ones are Onikakushi (since it was the first arc), and Watanagashi/Meakashi (I was reading the ending of Watanagashi late at night in my living room, bad idea D:) Reading through the answer arcs is such an enlightening experience, it makes you want to read it again from the beginning and appreciate the whole story.

I tried the visual novel but it doesn't get into the interesting parts for a while :/

I started the series and loved what I saw, but I never continued

I started it once and then dropped it for some crazy reason, but I picked it up again recently and watched the whole thing with a friend. It was a pretty nice series~ Psychological anime can be pretty interesting, and I think Higurashi is the first one I've really ever watched.
