I kept Harrison as Brock's last name for my fics, but I decided to use Waters as Misty's last name (I used her MN as Raine - a theme, I guess?).
Some characters that have nicknames for their names probably have real names to go with them. For example, Morty is probably short for Mortimer, Nate is short for Nathan, Will is short for William, and Roxie is short for Roxanne. However, I think Liza's name is just Liza. Goes better with the theme. (Some real-life Lizas are just Liza. I think Liza Minnelli is.)
Other characters probably have pseudonyms. These are the real names I gave some characters:
Elesa - Elizabeth Germano (reference to Stefani Germanotta)
Brycen - Daniel Li (my stories have it that Brycen thought up his stage name to be as different from his real name as possible)
Bugsy - Jack Webb (Webb as in spider web)
Brawly - Michael Brawley Norton (Brawley being his mother's maiden name)
Fantina - Fantine Marechal (Fantine is the proper French form)
Drayden - John Rourke (Drayden sounds too young for an old man, so I think he has something else; Rourke means something like "champion" in Irish)
Colress - Anthony Lindquist (There's no way Colress is his real name. It has to be a pseudonym. I chose the name at random.)
Ghetsis - William Harmon (Harmon is a real last name that sounds like Harmonia. Ghetsis might have changed it when he was young.)
On the topic, I thought of some other theme names:
Sidney - Geyer (means "vulture" in German)
Roxanne - Petros (means "rock" in Greek)
Erika - Hana (means "flower" in Japanese)
Flint - Tyson (the surname means "firebrand")
Aaron - Mosca (means "fly" in Italian)
Winona - Swan (self-explanatory)
Alder - Underwood (his house is well, under the woods - the Pledge Grove)
Mars - Catt ("cat" with an extra T - she has a Purugly)
Jupiter - Pepe (after Pepe Le Pew; Pepe is a skunk and Jupiter has a Skuntank)
Saturn - Zabka (means "little frog" in Czech/Polish; he has Toxicroak)
Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn are all code names.
