"Energy Ball!" Brad called, pointing at the oncoming wave of balls, successfully allowing them to scatter out of their path. They seemed, however, to have a mind of their own as they redirected in different directions for a new target. "Let's go." He said to Stantler, running further into the center of the room where he saw Mewtwo waiting for someone to dare strike him, eventually being challenged by a Crawdaunt.

"We have visitors." Archie said, ignoring the fact that two of his grunts' Mightyena had been successfully captured by balls and were now zooming away, far into the chamber that was no longer lit. The chamber seemed to continue for an unknown distance, Brad assuming that there was somewhere Mewtwo intended on keeping the Pokémon.

"Hyper, Trojan! Ice Beam!" Drew ordered at his Pokémon. Both fired the beams towards some of the balls which zoomed towards them, making them miss.

Seeing all of the action, Super Nova took flight. He exited the cave with Diana in his claws.

Two Pokeballs swooped down toward Vix and Skippy.

"Skippy, Confusion. Vix, Fire Spin!" Enzap called out. Skippy stopped the balls in their tracks with psychic powers and Vix blasted them with fire.

"Dopey, Echoed Voice!" Luna ordered, "Max, Thunderbolt! Mr. Gibles, Dragon Pulse!"

Dopey saw the ball that was coming towards him, and started screaming as loud as possible. Max grunted and unleashed an electrical shock to temporarily stop the balls. Mr. Gibles shot a blueish white pulse from his mouth and sent the balls backwards.

"Well? Act!" Archie ordered to his grunts, now furious that they were doing less than what he had expected of them. Some grunts nodded and charged for the group in order to make sure that they didn't interfere, while others ignored their orders and tried to protect their Pokémon and the Pokémon of fellow Grunts. "Stand back." Archie called to Jim as Ho-Oh and Lugia swooped in to attack. Soon after, Mewtwo warped away, causing Ho-Oh and Lugia to slam into the ground. "You can do better than that you useless turkeys!" Archie scolded maniacally, causing the two legends to pick themselves up and launch a Sacred Fire and Aeroblast from both sides, allowing no room for Mewtwo to escape.

Meanwhile, Brad had been having a rough time keeping Stantler from danger, maybe it was best that he return it. "Return!" He called, allowing Stantler to retreat into his Pokéball. Suddenly, however, the phony balls flew toward Brad. "Huh?! I'm no Pokémon!" He yelled, although was incredibly surprised to see two of his Pokéballs' contents being released in a wave of red energy, being transferred into the fake balls. "NO!" He gasped as he looked at his balls. Butterfree and Stantler's Pokéballs were now empty.

Before he knew it, more Pokéballs were aiming at him. "No!" He shrieked as Butterfree and Stantler's fake balls had flown out of sight. "Go! Get them away!" Brad released Vespiquen and Dragonite, using their Attack Order and Outrage combination to create a wild barrier of flames around himself and his Pokémon.

As Enzap battled off more of the balls, he felt something nudge his backpocket. He turned around and saw one of the fake balls open, and Dexter and Arach's balls flew out of his pocket and were sucked inside the ball. "Hey!" he called out, grabbing the ball. He tried to open it, but it wouldn't budge and eventually pulled out of his hand.

As Hyper and Trojan continued launching an array of attacks, Drew was too distracted with what just happened with Brad to notice a Pokéball flying at him. He tried to duck, but the Pokéball simply flew over him, capturing Trojan.

"Huh?!" Drew asked as he turned around. Hyper was still fighting. Drew released Saucer and Fibre Shock, who joined Hyper at fighting against the fake Pokéballs.

The balls rose back up. They went straight for Dopey. He just sat there. One of the balls hit him in the head and captured him.

"NO! DOPEY!" Luna screamed. Mr. Gibles went to swipe the balls away, but his tail touched one, and he was captured also. "Get away, Max!"

Tauros grunted as he kept releasing Thunderbolts.

"No..." Enzap said, practically breaking into tears. Then all of a sudden it felt like his head was exploding. He doubled over in pain as a force pulsated through his head.

"Wha... what is this?" he asked nobody in particular.

"Such a strong mind," said a smooth, quiet voice. Enzap turned and through the pain he said a tall, bald man standing about 20 feet away from him. Next to the man was an Alakazam.

"Fibre Shock, behind you!!" Drew shouted. As Fibre Shock turned, her arm got hit with it, and she was sucked into it. Saucer slashed at the Pokéballs, but one graced his arm and made him enter it.

"Keep it up, guys." Brad nodded at Vespiquen and Dragonite's successful attempt to deflect the balls, but the appeal couldn't last forever. Soon, the flames died down and the Pokéballs were able to break through. "Keep them away!" Brad said, signaling Dragonite to release a menacing Thunderbolt that caused the Pokéballs to retreat. Soon, however, more Pokéballs sneaked behind Brad to steal more Pokémon.

"No!" He said, but it was too late. Beautifly's Pokéball had already opened and it was about to release its contents. "Gust!" Brad shrieked. His partner released a Gust attack whose force pushed Brad staggering forward as the wind pushed away the ball, although Beautifly wasn't fully out of his ball yet. He had performed this attack while being transferred between balls and was transformed into red energy soon after, still being captured by the fake ball. "No!" He gasped, rushing after to find the ball, leaving Vespiquen and Dragonite to fend for themselves, which he knew they could.

Max was running as fast as he could. However, the balls stopped him and were circling him. He tried to fight them off, but they captured him.

"No!" Luna sobbed.

Brad looked around him, Beautifly's Pokéball had been taken into the darkness of the chamber. He knew that he could never find it again at this rate, but there had to be something he could do. Meanwhile, he returned to Vespiquen and Dragonite in order to find a way to help them and make sure they would be safe. "Lapras, Surf!" He called, not caring who would get hit in the process. The attack, directed at Vespiquen and Dragonite, hit its target dead on. The balls around them had fled, leaving Brad to sigh in relief. His relief was short-lived however, as Lapras had now been taken as well while their attention had been focused on his other Pokémon's safety. "Go use Thunderbolt!" Brad squealed.

Dragonite let out a roar and directed a powerful bolt of lightning at the ball, striking it intensely and making the ball collapse onto the floor. As Brad ran to save Lapras from her prison, the ball picked itself up and continued to its destination. "This is it. Dragonite, Vespiquen, I can't risk it!" He called, returning the Pokémon and keeping their balls in his hands so that they would be more safe.

"I can't sacrifice Hokori..." Drew frowned, placing the Pokéball in his bag.

"Hyper, Night Slash!" He ordered. Hyper did as told, but the pokéball dodged the attack easily, and tapped Hyper's chest. Before anything could be done, Hyper had dissapeared into the pokéball. Drew was left speechless as he didn't know what to do next.

Enzap grabbed his head, tears rolling down his cheeks. "STOP IT!" he screamed. The man smirked and the pain subsided. "You may not have realized it, but you were putting up a bit of a fight," the man said.

This man... he must be like me, Enzap thought.

That's right, he is, Skippy said in Enzap's mind. Enzap looked at Skippy and saw that him and Vix were fighting off a swarm of the balls.

Enzap released Kirik and Lume. "I won't let you people get away with whatever you're doing," he said defiantly. "Lume, Bubblebeam," he ordered. Lume fired a blast of bubbles from her mouth at the Alakazam. The attack was quickly stopped by a Psychic. Lume was then lifted high in the air by a mysterious force and sent crashing to the ground. One of her antennae became bent.

"Lume!" Enzap cried, running toward her. Before he reached her, a fake ball swooped down and captured her before flying off.

"Alakazam, Psybeam," the man said calmly.

"Kirik, counter with your own Psybeam," Enzap said. Two colorful beams were fired at each other, but sadly Kirik was quickly overpowered and collapsed. Kirik was then doomed to being captured in one of the fake balls as well.

"No!" Enzap said. Skippy, Vix, you two are my only hope...

And we will fight valiantly, Vix replied. The Ninetale's eyes glowed a dark red and a shadowy aura surrounded him. He released a wave of black energy out that struck the Alakazam, knocking it back along with several fake balls.

Skippy dived in with an Aerial Ace/Stun Spore combination attack. But right before he stuck, the Alakazam's eyes flashed and Skippy stopped.

"No! Skippy, get out of there!" Enzap called out, his voice strained. Skippy struggled but couldn't fight free. Enzap... give me your strength, Skippy said to him.

I-I don't know if I can... Enzap thought, trying to focus. As Skippy was suspended in mid-air, a fake ball sped toward him. Skippy's face flashed with fear and everything seemed to move in slow motion. The ball hit him in the side and opened up. Skippy turned to Enzap. Their eyes met one final time and Skippy transformed into red light and disappeared inside the ball.

"Just give me that." Archie said to a grunt, taking a Master Ball from their vast collection. "This has gone on for long enough." He said, preparing to toss it at Mewtwo.

"I'd love to have a bit more fun, but I'm afraid that this game is almost over. Plus I wouldn't want to break such a powerful young mind," the man said camly with a hint of a smile.

Enzap continued to stare at the spot that Skippy was just a moment ago. He couldn't move. He could barely breathe.

Archie pitched the Master Ball at Mewtwo, the speed allowing it to hit the legend without fail, as it had been hit by a powerful combination by Ho-Oh and Lugia not too long before. The effect was apparent, Mewtwo was sucked into the Master Ball and the phony Pokéballs descended to the ground, out of life.

"No." Brad gasped, looked at the spot where Mewtwo stood, Archie looking smug.

"Now our guests." Archie laughed. While some grunts rushed to retrieve their stolen Pokémon from the depths of the cave, Archie released his Sharpedo, Crawdaunt, and Mightyena. This, along with other grunts' Pokémon, ready to strike the group.

"Uh-oh." Brad gulped, knowing that they were helplessly outnumbered.
