I'd prefer some kind of protection against other superpowers, although wormholes/portals is awesome enough as well and can be used in a protective manner.

Electricity alone is so-so, because electromagnetism is more super.
 
Well, if you induce an electric current, you also induce a magnetic field. I mean, you can't have electric current without magnetism also.

So it's pretty much impossible to get electricity alone.
 
Super powers are above physics anyway.

I know of at least one series where someone's power is electricity and someone else's is magnetism. And the things they can do with such powers are completely different.
