Here is what I think will happen. (Not what I WANT TO HAPPEN)

Ash will have his turtwig evolve ONCE like Bayleaf. Staravia will evolve. Aipom will and give up on contests upon evolution. Pikachu will be a little pipsqueak bastard for the rest of eternity. Ash will catch a Gible which will evolve twice. Ash will catch a water type (I don't really know which). He will WIn the league and get stomped to smithereens by all elite four members.

It's not unreasonable speculation. I doubt Ash will get a Water Pokémon unless he trades for Buizel but I could see the rest happening.
 
The Pokemon wasn't what I was talking about, except for maybe Gible because I really don't see Ash getting a Dragon type.
