idk if it already exists but I would like bulbapedia to have a dark mode option (if it does exist already pls tell how can I enable it)

There's a little moon shaped button in the top right corner that you can press to change to Dark Mode.

Alternatively, you can click your username in the top right, click "preferences" in the drop down menu, and change the theme from there.

I think they are referring to the wiki, which doesn't have a night mode if I remember correctly, and not the forums.

Edit: I could be remembering wrong but I believe someone else asked this question and the answer was that a dark mode couldn't be implemented on the wiki for one reason or another.

More than a year later and still no dark mode on 'pedia... bumping this thread so Archaic and the other admins see it. Please implement this, the bright white is quite hard on the eyes.

Not Bulbapedia staff, but I'm going to bring this up! Apologies, the forums aren't very well-frequented by our Bulbapedia staff often (as it isn't their project). Thank you all for the suggestion!

If anyone is looking for an alternative, on iOS you can go to Settings > Accessibility > Accessibility Shortcut and enable Smart Invert. Now, anytime, you can triple click the side button and turn on Smart Invert, and it will basically make the bulbapedia wiki into dark mode, whether you're using the web or the bulbapedia app

The Mediawiki software doesn't really have inbuilt support for this at this point in time, though one is in active development over at Wikipedia. Likely, once they've got that, we'll be able to take a closer look at this ourselves.

The biggest problem here is simply that, due to how we display our data, there's a lot more colour on our pages than a typical Wikipedia page. Just making sure that things like Dark-type Pokémon work with the style could itself be a bit of a challenge.
