The Breeding of Pokémon

My professer asked the class to do a report on reproduction of pokemon and another on water pokemon.

I was wondering if someone could help me!
I need to know who the best water pokemon is and why not including legendary
Also I need 3 pairs of pokemon that can breed. They cant be two of the same kind or evolvation. I need to know the names of the two that are breeding, what pokemon they produce and why they are good to breed.

If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated...I know nothing about pokemon and i cant afford to fail this class.

Yeah, they probably are shielding the character's innocence.

Or, as mentioned earlier, they may be scarred from seeing certain Pokemon breed. It's a wonder they never walk up to you and say, "I'm very sorry, but your Pokemon was... crushed".

Well, I guess the "Protecting innocence" thing is an in-universe way of avoiding explaining where baby Pokemon come from. Now if only that one NPC didn't say that no one has ever seen a Pokemon lay an egg. Seriously, if they didn't lay eggs, then why bothering needing to bring together and male and female Pokemon. :/

I still say it's mostly Game Freak or Nintendo's doing, to avoid cheesing off any parents.

No, because most of the time, you get your pokemon to breed with a ditto. I think of the ditto as basically raping your pokemon because the old man tells me "yeah, your arbok and ditto don't really get along..." and then a few minutes later "Oh look what we have here, an egg! We don't know how your pokemon had it or anything..." Poor Arbok....

Man, I knew my mass experience with terrible animal husbandry would start when I transferred my ditto, but I didn't know I would feel so bad about my poor Pokemon being raped by a pink blob XD.

OH GOD. You have implanted scary thoughts into my mind with that post. XD Never thought of it that way...

I still say it's mostly Game Freak or Nintendo's doing, to avoid cheesing off any parents.

Thats what i think. They were probably thinking "Okay, we want to implant the idea of having pokemon breed in the story..." "But, we can't put porn into the games... and the main character is 10... how do we explain this...?" "I know! Lets make it a mystery! :D"

Something like that. They probably realized they can't put sex-ed in a game like this, so they'd just make it a "mystery"

Doesn't mean most parents would be thrilled with their childrens games discussing it.

Personally, I always imagined breeding having more to do with energy transfer. Hence why two Pokemon have to share a breeding group, but can be very different Pokemon. It explains the confusion and mystery, and solves the physical Wailord on Skitty problem. In my mind anyway.

so to you...

Wailord: MOAR ENERGY!
skitty: im trying, but i don't have enough energy for an egg that is six times bigger then me!

Although, if the Skitty's the one laying the egg, the egg would be a Skitty egg, not a Wailord egg. I also would wonder how an almost completely aquatic Pokémon could breed with a purely land-based Pokémon. Whales in our world are almost notorious for dying when beached, and cats are notorious for their hatred of water. So how would the Skitty and Wailord even meet to make eggs?

And why is it always the Skitty that's female in people's examples? why never the Wailord?
