The International Dub Thread

I feel bad for TPC Asia countries that they're saddled with some of our edits/censorship now apparently: prior it was just countries outside of Asia Internationally that received them, but it seems to have hit Taiwan etc. as well now in the last saga.

When it comes to Pokémon voices, it turns out that the pre-BW era was a bit complicated.

OS
Originally, there were Jean-Marc Delhausse, Daniel Nicodème, Benoît Van Dorslaer, Lydia Cherton, Guylaine Gibert and Véronique Fyon. In some pre-Johto episodes, Delhausse didn't voice any Pokémon (in those episodes, the only character he voiced was Professor Oak). Marie Van R voiced Pokémon, but only in Johto, while Julie Basecqz started voicing Pokémon with Season 5. Olivier Cuvellier (whose most famous Pokémon role is Lugia), who normally doesn't voice any non-talking Pokémon, voiced Pokémon in the Wobbuffet Festival episode. Van Dorslaer didn't voice Pokémon in some episodes but simply got replaced by Delhausse.

AG
Delphine Moriau (Cynthia's main VA) normally doesn't voice Pokémon but voiced Zigzagoons in early Season 6. Fyon stopped voicing Pokémon by the second half of Season 7 while Benoît Van Dorslaer didn't voice in late Season 7, so he got replaced by Tony Beck (Looker's VA; he also normally doesn't voice any Pokémon), who voiced Charmeleon in AG092. Season 8 is the one in which Cherton stopped voicing in Pokémon as she moved to France, and both Marie-Noëlle Hébrant and Delphine Chauvier start voicing Pokémon (the latter also didn't have any other role in the series before). In mid-Season 8, late Emmanuel Liénart (Sootopolis' Mayor's VA; he normally didn't voice any Pokémon) voiced Pokémon as Benoît Van Dorslaer didn't voice in those episodes. With Season 9, Gibert stops voicing Pokémon.

DP
Hébrant stops voicing Pokémon with Season 10 and it's the first time Fabienne Loriaux voices Pokémon (like Chauvier, she didn't have any Pokémon role before). In some episodes, Nicodème didn't voice any Pokémon, so late Romain Barbieux (Harley's VA; he normally didn't voice any Pokémon) voiced some of them. Some episodes later, Van Dorslaer wasn't here so Barbieux voiced Pokémon again. In Season 11, Van Dorslaer is replaced by Frédéric Clou, who didn't have any Pokémon role before. Hébrant is temporarily back as Pokémon, while Cuvellier voices Maylene's Lucario on its first appearance. Both Nicodème and Van Dorslaer would stop voicing Pokémon for good with Season 12, where both Frédéric Clou (officially) Michel Hinderyckx started voicing Pokémon, and Julie Basecqz resumes voicing Pokémon (it seems that she didn't voice any from the second half of Season 10 to the whole Season 11). The funny thing about Riley is that he is voiced by Mathieu Moreau, M08 Lucario’s VA, but what is also surprising is that he also voiced his Lucario.

Italian "Aim to be a Pokémon Master" opening end ending.

Ash's final arc has started to air two days ago on K2, even though it technically already premiered August 26 on discovery+ as Ultimate Journeys episodes are getting uploaded on the platform one week before the TV airing.

In Italy the final part has arrived.
We have 2 fun fact!
They wrong the mixing of the opening theme, using 2 times the same phrases.
That's because it was make a mix from old vocals recording (Diancie and I choose you) and probably who make the mix didn't know the language.
The second fact: On the website of Discovery Italia where you can watch the episodes on-demand, for preview image of one of the episode they used a screen from the "Team rocket in Paldea short".

But those short they were never distributed, probably those shorts still are on the master of the episode TPCi sent to the client, like the editing materials (that are always at the ending of the master).

Is there a reason as to why there are no European dubs for Paldean Winds yet?

Update: Paldean Winds will be available in Europe tomorrow.

Sorry for the double post, but Horizons' trailer has been dropped in the French language. Sophia Atman is Liko, Circé Lethem is Roy, Pierre Lognay (who already voiced Cerise) is Friede, while Amethio seems to be voiced by Thibaut Delmotte, who already voiced Clemont.

Was the cast announced anywhere or do you just recognize their voices?

The voice cast hasn’t been announced yet, I just did a voice recognition (hence the "seems" about Amethio).

Fun fact: Liko shares the same seiyuu and French-language VA with Regina, and Roy does the same with Chad.

Sorry for the double post, but we have updates about the French-language dub:

Amethio is voiced by Damien Locqueneux.
At least 3 SM VAs come back: Arnaud Crèvecoeur (Kukui) voices Murdock, Ludivine Deworst (Mallow) voices Dot, and Alain Eloy (Guzma) voices Zirc.
Orla is voiced by Nancy Philippot.
The French-language dub seems to consider Amethio as a late teenager, as Liko calls him "this man".
Sprigatito is confirmed to be female.
Brave Olivine's French name is Brave d'Oliville (Oliville is Olivine City's French name).

Sorry, triple post, but there are new informations.

Apparently, Roy isn't voiced by Circé Lethem, but by Julia Kaye.
Nidothing (Dot’s online persona)’s pronouns aren’t she/her.

It's hard to say if Nidothing goes by he/him or by they/them. But the pronouns are definitely not she/her, as Nidothing used a qualificative adjective without making it feminine.

It seems TPCi has finally gained distribution of movies 4 & 5 in Latin America after they were distributed by Disney/Miramax during the last 20 years, yesterday they posted an announcement that the movies are now available in Google Play and iTunes. Some were expecting a redub, since some movies in Brazil also got a redub 2 years ago, but nope, it's still the same dub. Those movies were dubbed by Disney and had Ash, Misty, Oak, Jessie & James reprise their roles. Who knows what will happen with movies 6 & 7 who are in the same situation, but my gut tells me it won't get a redub either despite it using a completely new cast and team.

Regarding Horizons, it'll premiere on February on Netflix, with Erika Ugalde (Wicke, Chryssa, the Sylveon teacher) as Liko and Ana Lobo (first voice of May, first voice of Sakura, first voice of Ritchie, M20 Pikachu) as Roy. Ana is the first Latin American VA to dub more than one Pokemon anime protagonist.
