Re: Confirmed New Pokémon Discussion

I am guessing that the squid-like Pokemon we saw in one of the demos could be one of the surface dwellers.

Re: Confirmed New Pokémon Discussion

Not in Isshu, that's the glory of it. NO TENTACOOLS! :D

Within two years, you'll be begging for Tentacool back. :p I was just replying to Rare Candy's post saying that everywhere in water was Wingull's job. It was Tentacool's.

It's almost as if Isshu was heaven.

Anyway, I don't think Swanna will be too common, but it probably won't be very rare, either. Probably near rivers and ponds.

Re: Confirmed New Pokémon Discussion

I've been over this plenty of time so far: Tsujarta will not receive Dragon-typing as it's secondary because that would require Pokabu to gain 5 very unlikely typings to maintain the one-way type triangle for STAB SE damage (I.e. Fire -> Grass -> Water -> Fire). Those typings are, in order of possibility, Flying, Poison, Ice, Dragon, and Bug. Now, can you see any of those typings working for Pokabu? No? I sure can't, besides Fire-Flying but that would be kind of stupid (when pigs fly).
Who said the one way type triangle needed to be intact? Tsutarja is a more special based pokemon while Pokabu is more of a physical sweeper (deduced from info on pokebeach) so it should balance out.

Re: Confirmed New Pokémon Discussion

Trying to imagine what a fire/poison or fire/ice final evo for Pokabu would look like (they both look awesome in my head).

Re: Confirmed New Pokémon Discussion

Swana will probably be this region's Wingull/Pelipper. Maybe it'll be near rivers/lakes too.
Also, pokémon locations may differ between the two games; wasn't it announced that Black has more of an urban environment and white is more rural.
Maybe we'll find, let's say, gear on route 15 in black and shikijika in white.

Fire/Ice, while cool, would never happen. Its likely to be Fire/Dark, Fire/Ground, or straight fire.

Re: Confirmed New Pokémon Discussion

@Turtwrig Lover: that is a very logical conclusion, especially considering that all snakes so far are in the Dragon group. Pokabu will obviously be part of the ground group and Miju will probably turn out to be water 1/2/3.

Re: Swana: I do doubt that swana will be what Pelliper was to Hoenn. I cab basically only see Swana on the lake north of Huin.

@RegiRuler:...are you really, seriously trying to make it so a starter won't have the ability to hit the supposedly "weaker" starter with a STAB SE attack? Stats don't matter as they come with the Pokemon. Types matter for the starters.

Well considering Swana are flying with Mamepato, I would venture to say they're found in more than one place. Most likely near water, but I can see them being very common near the Marsh Area in the north of Isshu.

Re: Confirmed New Pokémon Discussion

Mamepato is the beginning bird. Yet it is shown flying with Swanna. Now, which is closer to the early routes: the marshes or the lake? Let me answer that. The lake.

Re: Confirmed New Pokémon Discussion

Not like Wingull and Tailow weren't both caught as early birds.

Re: Confirmed New Pokémon Discussion

Could you find taillow after the 5th badge or so?

Re: Confirmed New Pokémon Discussion

Fire/Poison final evo for Pokabu = E. coli Pork :D

Just because it is seen flying in the early routes with Mamepato, doesn't mean that's the only place Swana are available. I was saying it could also be seen in places like the Marshes, as well as being available in the Lake. It could also be seen near the Rivulets that flow up into Isshu, that's a reasonable place for Swana to reside.

Re: Confirmed New Pokémon Discussion

...Maybe. But I think a lake would be more suiting for a swan than a a marsh.

Well yes it would be more suiting for a swan.Marshes would be more suited for something like meguroko or mirohhogga or however you speell minezumis evo >.>

In what way would a Marsh be a suitable terrain for Miruhoggu? He's obviously based off a Meerkat/Groundhog, both of which live in biomes that are Savannah-like, or complete grassland. Meguroko is the "Desert Crocodile" Pokemon, not the Marsh Crododile, or the Wetland Crocodile; that's why it lives in the Desert.

Re: Confirmed New Pokémon Discussion

The point he's trying to make is that a marsh is suited more for not-so-white Pokemon. Something brown would fit nicely in a marsh.

I'm talking about the overall pokemon released so far.How would meguroko not seem like an interesting choice for a marsh. He's based off of a crocodile species that tend to occasionally thrive in marsh.

Mr. Whooping Crane begs to differ.

He wouldn't seem like an interesting choice, because he's a Desert Crocodile Pokemon, which I've stated above. Crocodile species do in fact inhabit Marshes, but not this particular Pokemon species.
